edited:
hey guys, thanks for feedback and review.
FINAL EDIT HAS BEEN UPLOADED
soundrush - distant galaxy (original)
soundrush - distant galaxy (ancient phase edit)
cheers, niklas
Review while listening:
- Nice fx
- Don't like the conga very much, just personal (until the kick is coming in)
- Nice bassline
- Nice and warm pads/strings in the break
- Great break, great buildup
Sorry man, but i don't have any critics i think
Sounds very prof! Good job.
really nice, good job, I like it
for a first reason tune this is definately an awesome track man. like how this one flows, did a good job with effects. Pads are great, and this lead synth is very original.
only suggestion is to space out the breakdown more, sounds too 'rushed'.
good track
thanks for feedback guys, im pleased you like it.
@dj-rob: your right, break seems to be a bit crowded. i'll pick up your tip in my following productions
no more feedback anyone? need some more inspiration
foookin quality mate, the only thing im not too keen on (and this really is personal taste) is the kick. Its a little hard for my liking.
The sound is very proffesional. Quality work mate.
check your pms mate!
This is really quite good! The percussion fits well, I like the lead synth (though I'm that that part is a little more up for debate). Overall, it's ace. Only two minor bits to complain about: after the main break, the lead synth kind of repeats itself a bit much until the outro comes in. Maybe if you change the melody up a little bit that might make it even better. Secondly, where's the 192? Nevertheless, the production is overall quite excellent. Good job.
I agree with pretty much everything said so far. Perc is awesome, fx are good, and the chord progression is well composed. Very professional sounding. I'd spin this.
I don't think ur breakdown is too rushed... if it's really bugging you, maybe some more FX would help slow it down a bit though. If you add something with a lot of echo (say, a loud DRIP or TAP with a ton of reverb), then it would probably help give your track a slower feel in the middle without dragging the pads too much. I think the crash at 2:54 should be removed. Maybe you could 4 or 8 beats of silence there (perhaps with an echoey effect) before you bring in the lead.
I think your main synth has to grow into something larger after the climax. You have some good progression... like at 5:15 when the strings come in, etc... but I think you need to tighten up the structure a little more so that synth doesn't sound so... empty.
The problem I see is that you've filtered the synth a great deal, so at times you're really losing certain frequencies and really emphasizing other ones... and there's not enough else going on in the song to balance this, so your spectrum sounds a bit off. Maybe add a counter-melody, or late in the song, add another synth over top of the main synth (perhaps even the main synth again an octave higher).
What happened to the synth doing broken chords on the 8ths?? (the one that gets filtered in from 1:22 to 1:34) It just goes away and then comes back at 5:22... you should experiment with adding it to the climax (with slight modifications of certain notes to match your chord progression). I really liked it!!!
Sorry if that's a lot. I critique songs in the same manner that I would like to have mine critiqued
Still an 8/10 production. Keep up the good work.
thanks man, so much suggestions. probably i'll make a remix of my song.

This one is a keeper!
Dude... I really thought this was top notch! Sounds quite SolarStoney!! [at first]. The robotic "yeah" sound is uber-cool!
@ 3:00 -- LOVE that synth. WOW.. Mind if I keep this mp3?
Melody is just top notch...Im repeating myself, I know..but you don't mind, right?
BTW, I happen to love the kick. I would have liked to hear some panning on that robotic "yeah" sounding thingy (hard to explain but the sound that occurs at exactly 6:01)
9/10 for a 10/10 I'd recommend layering one more synth as was mentioned for the final play of the melody
P.S. Man, your sig is sick!
Re: This one is a keeper!
im glad you like it, thanks for feedback

yeah i like this, the one thing im not too keen on is the clap, and thats just personal taste, and in fact, i do like the sound...i just think it could do with some reverb. i think the synth that starts after the break is a bit solitary and i personally dont like the phase effect on it but thats just personal taste to be honest. very good for first track on reason. keep it up mate, kick and bass - wicked. nice one
I love this track, it's great all the way around. Great job!
I do agree that a final counter-melody would've really topped it off, but a GREAT track nevertheless!
Very nicely done. Sending u a PM.
OH MANN! DU BIST KRANK!!!
sitz ich hier 1200am fast am einpennen, noch n paar letzte tunes hören und dann deine nummer, wtf?? DIESES BUILD UP!!!!!!!
der burner! do solltest auf jeden fall weiter dran bleiben und dich mal mit der scene und paar labels anfreunden!!!
nice pads , intro riff with bass chord progression is nice man!
not sure about the kick, it so hardstyle trance kick.
break is really nice!!!!
ah a flanged lead, melody is really awesome.
fx is sweet.
i don't think the mixing is 100% good yet, but am listening on headphones, mite blast it tomrrow out loud to see if there are any mixing errors.
i love people that produce on Reason like this , proofs how powerfull reason is, (THAT IS IF you didn't rewire with this track).
EDIT
am not sure how long you been producing, but i consider you now as an upcoming talent on TA for 2004.
Lots of great tallent coming to the boards! Is that flange or is that EQing with those leads? In any case, it sounds mint. Great track you've made here. Keep it up.
maybe put more reverb or delay on the first FX because it actually makes the drums sound a bit dry at the beginning.
kick is indeed something to get used to. sounds a bit cheap and "hollow", is there a lil reverb on it ?
strings sound fine bassline could need a very little EQing, but it sounds alright
the FX in the middle/approaching part sound quite well placed, except you could pan em a little more to the middle (let's say instead of 128 to the left more like 60 to the left).
melody part coming in...sounds cool...indeed
not sure about the bongo thingys..maybe a lil delay on em ? buildup comes a bit sudden. i dunno, maybe u should leave the strings after the buildup and let em go later.
but sounds quite alright for yer first reason tune
Nice tune!
I have to say, this is a really great tune you have here! I don't hear anything rushed and I love the synth work in it! You've got nice, hard driving beats to groove & move to, with nice breaks in between. I could definately listen to this a while! Speed down the interstate, ya know? LOL
Anyway, if it's ok, I would like to have a shot at putting this in my upcoming trance mix. No monet involved, just play an publicity. You can listen to the second trance mix (Acid Ultra Mix 2) on my site at http://www.djgemini69.com Take a peek, let me know. This is definately a very awesome song and I would be honored to include it!
You can either PM me, or email me at DJGemini69@tranceaddict.net
I'll be waiting to hear from you, and again VERY nice job on this song!!!!!!
hey guys, i thought everyone heard this already. good feedback turns me on...
thanks for the appreciation and the criticism
btw... i wanted to know if anyone would like to remix this one. just let me know, i would be very pleased
cheers, niklas
i missed this one first time around, my loss! this is an excellent tune. i don't think i've really got anything to add that hasn't already been said, so I'll just give you two thumbs up! Nice one!
track has been reworked for promotion (check the first thread).
thanks for your support,
niklas.
hey man cracking work, its obvious you spend alot of time ensuring that your 'sounds' are of a professional caliber!
Great feel to this track.
Just wondering what setup you got to produce this as i saw in one of the replys that you use reason?
Keep it fruity!
Regards
