Markus Merk chosen as ref for the final

Markus Merk was appointed by FIFA to ref the final today. The semis are split between Anders Frisk (Czech Republic - Greece) and Pierluigi Collina (Portugal - Holland).

Thoughts?

It's the other way around. Pierluigi Collina will referee Czech Republic - Greece, Anders Frisk will do Portugal - Holland. I would've preferred Collina for Portugal - Holland, but oh well.

He was a disgrace during Czech Republic - Holland Robbed us of a penalty amongst other things. Glad he didn't get to referee any other matches.

Disagreed. Frisk is a great ref. Doesn't reach to his pocket too often but still has autority on the field. The players respect him and that's a sign of being a great ref.

I wonder if any of you guys have ever refereed before its a lot more challenging then you would think. There is soo much you need to pay attention to and yet ever fan is soo willing to bitch after the game.
