Hello! Just moved to St. Pete...HELP!?!?

St Pete TA's....HELP!!!

So this past week I got fed up with Gainesville and decided to take an opportunity to get out of the city. So here I am, at my friend's grandparent's house in Pinellas Park, bored as fuck, with no one that I know anywhere around and only a 300Mhz computer with AOL to communicate!!

I've met alot of you Tampa TAs and you guys always rocked, so help me out here! Whats going on in this town this week!? Any general information would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

THANKS!!

Yo Spykechyld

Hi Spykechyld,
Welcome to Pinellas county. Not much of a scene here anymore. Your best bets for this area would be to check out downtown St. Pete or Ybor. Lots of House and Breaks to be found. If you are looking for trance...your in trouble. Your only chance of hearing a quality set would be from Suzy or DJ Santana. Check there sites for local dates. Also Kimball comes once a month or bi monthly to the Amphitheater in Ybor. Ill check around and try to find out something that is happening and ill keep you posted.
Peace,
LiL-B

yo welcome, to the tampa bay area. i live 10 minutes from the airport. but for everyone here, st. pete and clearwater is the place to go to the beach.

as for clubs, and trance. theres not much around here. definatly check out ybor city. thats where most of it is at. try the ampitheater, euphoria, czar. most of it is breakbeats, but ive only been to the amp. check it out for yourself.

i love breakbeats, and trance, so depending on what u like, youll get an impression of tampa.

Thanks Trance and B...I love Suzy so let me know when she is playing and I'll be listening!!!

Any of the following info about the St Pete/Pinellas areas would be nice(void Ybor info, as it's pretty obvious, lol)...

~location of record shops!!!!
~location of head shops!!!!
~clubs/bars in the area
~good places to chill
~available jobs(not McDonald's!)

Thats a good start. These are all things that I would know instantly about Gainesville, but this new town...hmmm...

Welcome to the Tampa Bay area SpykeChyld. I've lived in this area my whole life. Hit me up on MSN - [email protected]

trancebrat would definatly know a lot. ive got a job at macdill airforce base, only because im a dependent, i was able to get in. i can say, i have access to sensitive material that could be used by a criminal or terrorist, buttt thats the only job ive held.

about record stores, etc. i only know of one, and its in ybor city. the stuff for EDM they sold was house, but they mixed it all with trance, n breakbeats.

um, a cool place to chill is clearwater. its like a mini-miami. the way i go there is from the veterans expressway, onto this one 6 lane street that takes me straight there. the causeway i think its called. but i dunno how u would get there from st. pete.

hey trancebrat. i know u are a trance lover, but dont really like breatbeats or house as much as trance. so, where do u go for trance?? or do u just skip town and head for orlando or miami??

true, gas is expensive these days too. going there and back is a 1/4 tank. i remember sasha comin, but i was in miami. u cant throw a party over here in west chase, the cops show up like the gestapo, and neighbors are really uptight.

I already covered this topic before. I wish it were that easy. You need to have $$$ to make $$$. Find someone that will put up the cash and does it because they believe in the music...not because they are looking to make a buck. It should always be about the music.

Welcome to Tampa Spykechyld!! There are some good clubs around but majority play breaks. The DJs @ Amphitheater will squeeze a couple of trance tracks in between their usual breaks set. There's usually a guest trance dj there at least once a month. There's Hyde Park Cafe on Platt/Howard. Good night to go there is Friday because it's not too crowded. The dance floor is tiny and it fills up quick which means no room to dance. Jason Perez will play mixture of breaks, trance, and trancey breaks. I like it there because if it gets too hot and crowded inside, you can go outside and chill in the courtyard. Be sure to checkout Stormans on Ulmerton Rd in Clearwater on Tuesdays because that's when Santana will be playing trance. He plays a lot of new stuff. He's amazing! Of course, there's Floyds @ Hard Rock off I-4, exit 6. Saturday nights after 3am is packed and it's the place to be. Those are all the good clubs I can think of.

Yea, he's always been there as long as I can remember. Then he'll spin at Floyds afrerwards usually. Not bad stuff.

I don't want to throw in a shameless plug but whatever. Friday nights I spin at a little martini bar in Dunedin called the Chicaboom Room. It may sound like a weird name, but before I got the gig, it was my favorite bar to go to. Its always packed on Fridays and Saturdays. My boy Shawn David spins there on Saturday nights. We both play a mixture of breaks, progressive, and trance, depending on what the crowd is feeling. Sorry, no Florida breaks though. Dunedin is right next to Clearwater, and the Chicaboom Room is in Downtown Dunedin. Also on Thursday nights, Shawn plays at another Martini bar in Palm Harbour called St. Larrys. He usually keeps it pretty progressive there. But it is the place to be if you want to hook up with hot classy women. The girls there are smoking, as well as the Chicaboom Room. Women drink free at St Larry's on Thursday nights and its always packed.
