Lightforce - Join Me

What song is this a cover of? I think the pianos are from Romeo & Juliet.. But I also know of a rock group named "H.I.M." who has done this song as well.. And I think their version came after Lightforces... Both versions have the same lyrics "Join me in death" and the same Piano riff...

So has Lightforce covered another song? Who's song is this originally?

I figured that made more sense.. but when I searched on google and amazon.com... it appeared as if HIM's version came afterwards.

The Finnish rock (or love metal as they say their music is) group HIM (His Infernal Majesty) did the original Join Me (In Death). Some months after the European release of the HIM's original version, 3 different Germany based groups (Anastasia, Lightforce & The Driver Project) made their own versions of the track and turned it into more of an DJ friendly form.

Also Lightforce's and Anastasia's record credits say written by V. Valo aka Ville Valo, the head of HIM. He also wrote the lyrics.
