Christopher Lawrence @ Club Five (02.07.2004)

A reminder from the Christopher Lawrence mailing list...I know where I'll be on July 2nd!

------------------------------
Friday July 2nd @ Club Five/DC
Debut artist album - 'All or Nothing' tour date

"America's favorite trance DJ kicks some dance-floor ass. 4 of 5 stars"
- URB Magazine (July/Aug 04 issue)

In his first DC appearance for 2004, Christopher Lawrence celebrates the release of his debut artist album 'All or Nothing'..

Following his acclaimed Essential Mix for the BBC and with his debut artist album 'All or Nothing' released this week, the year is already shaping up to be Christopher's biggest to date. The album is already receiving rave reviews from the press, including some of the world's toughest music critics who have unanimously given it "four stars"!

In the DJ polls this year, Christopher took out the #5 position in BPM Magazine's annual 'America's Favorite DJ' list, coming in above some of the biggest names in the global dance scene. Meanwhile, Christopher's leapt a massive 25 positions to take the #35 position in DJ Magazine's prestigious 'Top 100', which is a huge honor for a US DJ and places him firmly in the upper echelon of international DJs.

On the tour front, Christopher Lawrence has recently returned from tours of Australia, China, Japan and Europe, where he headlined the Summer Love festival in Athens, as well as playing the UK's legendary Global Gathering, Netherland's Extrema, Belgium's 'Antwerp is Burning' and Greece's MTV 'Dance Heat' Festivals. No stranger to jetlag, Christopher will be returning to the UK later this year for Creamfields, Turnmills, Gods Kitchen and more!

Christopher Lawrence also kicks off 2004 with the launch of his new record label, Pharmacy Electronic Music.

Christopher's new single 'Genesis', will celebrate the label's launch. The track has already earned the honor of being named the #5 track on the Official WMC buzz chart for 2004. Additionally, you can catch the track in two upcoming feature films, 'LA DJ' and 'Put the Needle on the Record'. 'Genesis' will be in stores in July 2004.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to catch this Dancestar 'Best DJ' winner in DC!

Nothing wrong with Danny Howells but...it's been too long since I've seen Christopher Lawrence! CL was one of the DJs that got me into trance...and still one of my favorites!

It will be Christopher Lawrence's first gig in DC in over a year! I've had the chance to see CL at Buzz, at Club Five, and at Glow...he tears it up every time!!!!! If you love trance with a darker, more progressive style, don't miss out on CL!

Alright.....my review. After getting off work at 8 last night I decided to haul ass to dc cause I was bored out of my mind. Got here in about 3 hours / 45 minutes.........my new car is awesome on the highway Met up with my friends Donny and Mark in College Park.....by then it was to late to hit up Nation for Danny so we decided to come to Club 5. Met up with Josy and got in no problem....thanks Josy The croud at 5 was pretty beat......guidoes and hoes all over the place......I think we even seen a hooker or two But then I seen Mario dancing his ass off up front so thats where we decided to hang out. CL was laying down some sick bangin trance.....couldn't id alot of his shit but he deff droped Mark Norman - Phantom Manor and Witness of Wonder - Emotions in Motion

Later on a bunch of Groovernauts came.......Lust-E, Reuben, and some other but i cant remember you all........it was so funny cause I was just partying with all these guys in NYC @ the after-after party. Good seeing you guys out.

Well we danced our asses off till about 5:30. Got to meet CL for the first time.......hes a really down to earth guy....thanked us for supporting him till the end....and he was even making fun of the hookers on the dance floor.

Cant wait for Armin tonight......see you all there.

I could only stand it till about 230 the non mixing and the Dance Mix 93 tracks wore me down, along with the crowd. Wanted to stay and hear some real music but just didn't happen my ears were killing me.

As much as some friends tried convincing me about Firecracker, I'm so glad I went to Club Five! I had a blast! The night started off okay. The DJs spinning early on weren't all that. I kept looking at my watch. It was almost 2 am and Christopher Lawrence wasn't anywhere around. Even after a couple of Stoli Ohranj on the rocks, I got bored with the main room and hung out upstairs.

At the moment that I decided to give the main room another look, Christopher Lawrence had finally taken over! It was 2:30 am. The wait was worth it! Once again CL didn't disappoint! CL rocked Club Five and kept going strong till the end! It was over two hours of hard bangin' goodness! Some people in the crowd didn't know what make of CL. I was pleasantly surprised when Brian and friends (as well as Josy) showed up! :w00t:

I didn't recognize too many tracks except for...
Night Fever (Christopher Lawrence Remix) - Mile High
Motu - Running Water
Mark Norman - Phantom Manor (I knew I'd heard that one before...Brian went crazy when CL dropped it!)

I remember hearing a few tracks from CL's album (Mind Eraser, Renegade, Rush Hour)...I was shocked not to hear October's Child or Nitro!

It was the best time I ever had at Club Five! IMO...CL's set was even better than his previous set @ Club Five in January 2003! CL must come back to DC...soon!

And one more thing...shoutouts to...
Brian - glad you decided to come out after all...great meeting your friends!
Josy - as always...great seeing you!

What a great way to begin a nice long weekend!
