below is a pie chart of actual distrubution as of 2002 of the top religions. below that i have a list of the top 22 by size.

1. Christianity: 2 billion
2. Islam: 1.3 billion
3. Hinduism: 900 million
4. Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist: 850 million
5. Buddhism: 360 million
6. Chinese traditional religion: 225 million
7. primal-indigenous: 150 million
8. African Traditional & Diasporic: 95 million
9. Sikhism: 23 million
10. Juche: 19 million
11. Spiritism: 14 million
12. Judaism: 14 million
13. Baha'i: 6 million
14. Jainism: 4 million
15. Shinto: 4 million
16. Cao Dai: 3 million
17. Tenrikyo: 2.4 million
18. Neo-Paganism: 1 million
19. Unitarian-Universalism: 800 thousand
20. Rastafarianism: 700 thousand
21. Scientology: 600 thousand
22. Zoroastrianism: 150 thousand

I'm not a religious person, but I study Buddhism and Taoism. I'm re-arraging my schedule though, so I can go to the buddhist temple near my house and check if that's what I really want for me.

yeah for me buddhism also fits a lot of the criteria i need for a religion. most of all its that there is no creator "god."

but for now its just atheism

though i know it started as a branch or sect of islam, it is distincly different by textbook terms....

how couldnt you include suphism, when you included ZOROASTRIANISM!? is there even any current day sects or groups of zoroastrians? i thought that dies with the days of rome.... BUT IM NO RELIGIOUS SCHOLAR

well... like i said, i only listed the biggest religions, in number of followers. its in order from biggest to smallest. I didnt mention suphism becuase i stoped at the top 22. and i guess zoroastrianism didnt die with the roman empire or whatever because it still has 150 thousand followers. dont get mad man, just put other. and uh... check out the link at the bottom of the first post for more info

My religion from what I was raised on was Catholic. Although my religion of choice is aetheist. Right now I'm agnostic, but I realize that's probably just because of my Catholic upbringing.
