Idea underage clubs in the midwest

im 16 and I want to go clubbing more than ANYTHING, especially after the oakey show at summerfest. I live in wisconsin and the only place i know to go clubbin at 16 is brooklyns in appleton. unfortunately the only electronic music they play is house. everything else is top 40 and RB. I know pure in milwuakee is open to people 17 and up. since im turning 17 in like a month, i was hoping there were more options that just those two places. Anywhere in the midwest would be good.

Also... i heard an ad on the radio a few months back for a place in milwaukee called level 3 or something. i know there is a place called 3 but this place was for underage people too. cant find any info on it. any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

Cage i guess is a new club opening up that has a teen night (17+). i just saw an ad in the Shepherd for it today. i'm not sure what kind of music they play though. Pure also had teen night on thurs and sat nights, not sure if that's still going on or what. i don't know if i'd really call teen nights "clubbing", cause i'd imagine them to be pretty fuckin lame.

seriously, if you want to hear good trance music in the midwest, you have to go to Chicago (and really that's only when they bring in the bigger name DJs - Armin, PVD, etc - and that's almost always at 21+ places). Milwaukee is very hip-hop/house oriented.

the only other thing i can think of is when they bring DJs to The Rave, which is an all-ages venue. PVD was there a few months ago... but its a rare occasion that they bring in any form of electronic music.

i haven't heard anything about a Level 3. and Three is a 21+ club.

it's a shame Summerfest doesn't have DJs every day.

no kidding....

my guess is it is probably lame for that age. i figure i will just check it out, but still. and yeah, you're right about milwaukee being really hiphop and house. definately not too much trance

PVD & T[]C - I understand what you're saying. I want to get to Chicago once I turn 21 and maybe hit up Club Visionz sometime to enjoy the night away.

By the way, I noticed it said you live in Beaver Dam, WI. I lived in BD for about 12 years, and I myself am currently 16. I moved to near Madison in 8th grade... you should PM me, we possibly know each other and don't even realize it. :/

you need to move out of the USA. i've lived outside the states my whole life, and came back only for uni - i need to get out. this place is my nightmare sometimes. i'm visiting my sister in waukesha WI, and damn. what a dead country.

Cage is Le Cage with a new theme and a facelift. As Le Cage it was an alternative lifestyle club, so it will be interesting to see what the changes are going to do to their clientele.

I believe it's located down on National and 2nd, kinda in the vicinity of FlyBar and CO2.....

Pures teen nights are called "Heaven". So I am not too sure what kind of clubbing night "Heaven" would make for. LOL.

interesting. i feel like a retard that i didn't make that connection. i guess because i always knew Le Cage as a gay club, and the ad i saw for Cage didn't mention anything about it being a gay club. now, with that said... i have heard crappy things about the Le Cage renovation. i never went there before but i heard from lots of people that it was way better before.

i dunno, whichever one blu3n3rv was referring to.

is "alternative lifestyle club" the new politically correct way of saying "gay club"? what if i lead an alternative lifestyle but i'm not gay?

Posted by UWM on Jul-08-2004 21:11:

There is also a 'Visions' strip club in Madison.

Sunday is amateur night ... wooooei!

hahaha Visions in Peoria plays shitty euro. I'd hope no one is going there. (and they do have a cage strangely.. and as much as I've tried to get my AL buddy to jump in there so I can laff, he won't.)

when i was in peoria i wasnt 21 so the only places that i went were Gormans and The Lady. ive been down there a couple times since ive been 21 and we went to this new place called The Underground. its pretty funny going there. they play songs that were good like four years ago like...well i cant remember the name of the song but its from Blade and they also played Shiny Disco Balls. not a bad place to go to if your completely trashed.

Granddaddy is performing at FlyBar on July 16th for their monthly CD release. He is 100% Trance. He is doing FlyBar vol. 8 which will be being handed out for free that night.

Have you heard about his show on DI?

new order - confusion ?

yea I'll be in peoria next weekend visiting friends again.
Underground is the redone dev8 , which was a half way decent gay club that was mixed on the weekend...
strangely enough, not a bad place to meet girls

(and among other things, peorians are always behind in the times with... Music. My friends have tried to throw a couple parties and it's just sad. Anything new and the crowds get the deer in headlights look... )

i might have to check that out. milwaukee + trance is not something you hear in the same sentence often. except when you hear "i know this crazy chick from milwaukee who likes trance."

as for DI, i gave up on their radio streams a loooong time ago.

no kidding... I heard about you down at blue dawg bagels... "did crazy trance girl stop in for breakfast yet?"

yeh i know how you feel m8, i'm only 15 and the only places around here are those stupid teen-clubs that play hiphop all the time (which isn't horrible, but if i wanna hear hiphop i can play it myself)

Yeah, you may want to ressurect it. With GD behind the decks, it will only be 3 licks to the center of the trancey pop.

Plus FlyBar he has promised a Full Thump set starting at around midnite that Friday. If you want to hear him, we feature him as our resident DJ on the nights radio stream.

There are also a lot of the other resident DJ's from the local Milwaukee club scene. And I promise you.... no f*cking hip hop. I can turn on the local radio stations for that.... We just wanted to play stuff you can't hear on the radio.

Some of us are stuck here for a while and have to make the best of what we have.
