confused...

OK, I've been emailing this girl I really like (only contact I have of hers) and last time I thought I'd plain out ask, does she wanna get together sometime over the holidays? She emails me back, quite a long email... answers my other questions but not the one above. Then she finishes with "C u soon, Nikki"

I mean... wtf?! I don't wanna ask her again and sound like a broken record (just noticed the suitability of that clich on this forum... :P), but she just seem to have bypassed my Q completely. Fair enough if she doesn't wanna see me, but then she sticks "C u soon" at the end

Erm, help/ideas please?!

Jack

its a long email, she probably digressed and never went back. Just do a blatant reply email that says, "sweet, so you wanna get together on the holiday or what"

Posted by Marcy on Jul-05-2004 00:31:

Hmmm.. it seems like shes avoiding the question because she might not want to hurt you, or could be shy. If it was me i would email her again and find out whats going on. Woman are a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece sometimes so dont let it get to you.
How long you known the girl for?

Thanks orbax... i'll give it another try then

I was in the same groups as her when i was like 4... but we've never really spoken properly until the last few months or so.

Mto... to fuck her, I'd need to get with her, right? Unless you weren't being so literal...

And that's another thing... girls and the use of the word 'love, '...... what does it actually mean?!

I meant to forget about her. Don't be so weak minded dude. Don't let your obsession get you in crap. If she doesnt wanna play your cards, dont play hers. If you give in to women now (i assume you are young), you're gonna be their bitch forever. Seriously man. You might maybe wanna ask again. Yo you wanna hook up? If she just ignores you or answers with a no, move on and forget it. Trust me man, you're better than that.

Oh.. and love? I'v lived to learn that love is very overrated. Actually very very rarely is there love. Its mostly obsession towards a person due to boredom, lack of sex, lack of interaction with that person, and due to the fact that you just dont wanna be alone. So .. um.. fuck love.Go with the instinct and live for the moment. If something feels right, it feels right.. don't think about it too much. If its worth your time, proceed.. if it fucks with you .. fuck with it. You know.. its all bullshit.

mto... no offence but you seem bitter about something. of course if she straight out tells me that she don't wanna be with me, fair enough... i really like her but i'd deal with it.

Nou... i'm kinda intrigued as to what you mean!

Wow! You're asking a girl out via email? Sweet... also, very sheepish. The only reason she wrote you back is because you've known each other for ages.
Do not write her. It's that simple. Phone up, meet her and _then_ ask her out.
Only contact is email... BS, you like her, therefore you _see_ her sometime during the day, and that is sufficient enough to ask.

Not bitter my friend, just honest. Sure i've had my share of experiences, both good and bad. However, if you overthink, if you give in, and if you don't put yourself first, you are destined to get hurt. Be wise and i love you.

I would but if you think about it, there is so much truth within such a simple statement.

Anything written, either email, text, or postal can be used as evidence. Basically later on our feelings towards the person may change (possibly due to rejection or a break-up) & no matter how much we deny that we had any feelings towards said person, the letter will tell all.

Also I believe that you should never run foolishly after women, he said his piece, now he should back off & let her do some chasing (women like confidence in a man, not desperados who chase after them pleading, begging etc).

btw good luck with whatever happens goonerjack

Hmm... I dunno how she's interpretating it, but from her side i'm not actually asking her out, just asking if she wants to do something over the summer. Don't get me wrong...i'd much prefer to ask her in person or even over the phone, but at the moment i don't have her phone number and the chances that i'll see her are very low because school's finished for the summer.

I'm not ashamed by my feelings for her though, so i can appreciate what you're saying but surely i'm the one losing out by not letting her know... and finding out how she feels. Another thing, what happens if she just plain out missed it? If i then don't say a thing for months and then she tells me she had feelings for me a while back then... well you'd know how it'd be. Basically what have i got to lose by trying again?

I don't want to be a ****, but she can obviously read coz she replied to your other questions. She ignored that one for a reason.

There's a difference between saying "I love you" to someone and saying "I'm in love with you". I love my family and friends. I do tell my friends...especially my best friends...that I love them. For me to say to someone "I am in love with you" that is saying a lot. You can think you are "in love" when in actuality it is lust or infatuation. If someone says "I love you" it shouldn't necesssarily scare someone away. They could honestly mean it.
