Applies only to Americans... how much I spent on fireworks:

How much I spent on fireworks... $0
How many times I lit a match... 0 times

Am I 'unamearican' for not caring to 'celebrate' our nation's birthday? To me, it's just another holiday, and that always means a day off work.

Ok, any other Americans in the same boat as me?

Man there must be a lot of accidents over there from people messing around with Fireworks......

Are they only legal on 4th July??

Posted by enferno on Jul-05-2004 02:30:

no you can light them whenever you want to, they only sell on the 4th though. sometimes on new years, but not very often.

california is really really fucking strict about what fireworks are legal though.

doesn't matter, so many people, including myself, smuggle fromg different states the real good stuff.

muhaha

I ain't American obviously, but last night across the road from me there sure was, the guy lit up the sky for about an hour, with really fuckin good fireworks, he must of spent a couple of grand to keep them going for that long and each firework was top quality, it was a nice way for me to finish the night since I just finished drinking and smoking some weed and had just finished watching the Live stream of Sensation, what a night.

I spent almost $200 and some of them were shite! I know what not to get next year.

I've been in mexico for its independence day and i can definently say that they are proud of their culture and the significance of that day. Every kid was talking about the individual battles, the politics and the heroes and documents that set the ball for its independence. It's a very rich and celebrated holiday. When i am in america and i talk about john hancock, every just starts laughing at the name....ugh. Why celebrate a day that most no one knows abuot except that buying a flag on that day is patriotic?

Posted by PhloTron on Jul-05-2004 05:13:

Spent 0

Right now is a warzone outside...so get a good pre-show for free....in a couple minutes the biggest show west of the mississippi starts @ Fort Vancouver...nothing like an hour of explosions.

wheee

30 bucks. definately not worth the second degree burn from the firecrachers i have on my right pointer finger and thumb....

Posted by MERLIN on Jul-05-2004 06:07:

i spent 0 this year, it sucks cause scattered cities have the laws in place prohibiting fireworks. it's not hard to drive to a different city, but i'd want to do fireworks in front of my house.

but, i do have a brick of firecrackers, a 30 shot, 15 shot, half a box of mortors, and about 3/4 of a box of 8oz sky rockets left from two years ago. oh also a couple m-1000's.

also you don't have to spend a grand to light up the sky for an hour, about 500 would be more then enough.

Me and some friends together spent about $500 total, but thats becuase we got buy one get one free on these 16,000 rolls of black cats that are $200 each. When unrolled and lit, each one lasts about 15+ minutes (try to imagine your regular pack of black cats, that lasts about 3 seconds, going on for 15 minutes... its ridiculous). Very worth the money.

I went to a free showing with the Philharmonic playing outdoors synchronizing with the firework show. Pretty frigging cool.

This year our party spent over 2000 on fireworks at wholesale cost. sparkler bombs, california seal deterrant bombs, softball bombs, you name it we made it or had it. we went from 4 in the afternoon till 2 AM straight lighting stuff off. we had the road closed down and the whole neighborhood lighting stuff. It was pure class.
