Just saw the girl of my dreams

So I'm sitting in the subway on the morning train heading down to work from Finch as usual, reading an article in my new British GQ as for a moment I lift my eyes as I turn the page and I see HER! The most amazingly beautiful girl I have ever seen no joking! So my heart skipped a beat and I continue reading thinking wtf should I do...Then we get to Bloor and as usual lots of people pile in and she's RIGHT in front of me smiling like 10cm away So anyways I totally froze and had to get off on College anyway

What should have I done? This sucks ass...UGH!

She have a ring on? if you were ment to do something youll see her again

No...no ring, and she seemed too young for a ring IMO. In any case I need some suggestions from the female TOTAS...what to do in a situation like that?

Never and I mean never miss an opportunity like that!

That's the biggest reason I met my (now) wife.
She were working in the same Hotel (she was in the restaurant, me as banquet staff) but we never saw each other.
One day when we were getting slammed they decided to call in someone from the restaurant.
I saw her once, walked right up to her and introduced myself.
I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

Posted by Creamfields on Jul-06-2004 13:34:

Well from a female's point of view, there is not much you could have done. I mean what were you going to do? Run up to her while she was probably rushing on her way to work or school and say "so hi! umh, can i give you my number? umh,,,so i can take you out for coffee or something?....umh"........unless you looked like Johny Depp I don't think she would be interested enough to say yes to a complete stranger. Girls generally don't like when guys try to pick them up while they're on their way somewhere, etc....

Now, if you would have seen her sitting at Starbucks or whatever, that's different.

Posted by starsearcher on Jul-06-2004 13:34:

Yeah I guess...*sigh* I guess maybe I'm just not confident enough, but then I always end up regretting it...

Oh creamfields is a girl...I didn't know...cool

Posted by Creamfields on Jul-06-2004 13:38:

LOL yes I am a girl.

Posted by starsearcher on Jul-06-2004 13:40:

Never listen to anything women tell you about dating them. Read this sentence as many times as it takes for you to grasp it's meaning. Creamfields post illustrates this pretty well.

To give you some frame of reference, several days ago at the beach, i was playing volleyball and saw a few cuties sunbathing 100 feet away. I walked over to them in a straight line, told them that since i've put so much effort into approaching them, they have to come play, turned around and left. Two minutes later, there they were with all their backpacks and chairs.

Posted by starsearcher on Jul-06-2004 13:57:

Ok how about that...need a girl's point of view again...would you think it's stupid to give a girl a compliment? Would you find it kinda creepy? Like say - I would just tell her that I think she's really pretty...

Posted by Creamfields on Jul-06-2004 13:59:

Out of the blue, as she is walking out of the subway? Umh yeah, a little. But I would smile and say thanks.

She'll smile and say thanks, and walk away thinking you're a desparate loser, just like the other three guys who said exactly the same thing to her that day.

No i don't mean physical look...i meant the dress/character wise...or at least so it seemed from the 15 minutes i was looking at her

Posted by Skipper on Jul-06-2004 14:30:

Honestly, if some guy came up to me on the subway and was clearly hitting on me,I'd probably ignore him.

however, if I thought he was sweet and honest and HOT, then I'd probably smile and entertain him for as long as I could before we had to go our separate ways.

So what I'm saying is, chances are you will get the brush off if you approach someone like that. But there's a small chance she might respond. You never know - but be willing to get brushed off 99% of the time. Women are very defensive in this city - and for good reason.

IMO, if u do nothing, then nothing will happen.

If you try, even if its not likely, theres a chance... u get shot down, who the fuck really cares... ull prob be eyein a diff girl on the subway home anyways

Posted by DigitalMP on Jul-06-2004 14:45:

Wow...99%? That's never close to my experience.

But seriously, saying hi can't ever hurt, ESPECIALLY if she's smiling at you, because you're likely going to get at least a 'hi' in return, and possibly more. However, some girls give the smile to show they're somewhat interested, and leave it up to you to start a conversation. 'Hi' may not be enough.

Don't say 'Hi, how are you,' because you're wasting two responses with one comment. Say 'hi', let her respond, and look at her for something nice to say about her. Then say 'how are you', let her respond, and if she doesn't give you something to work with, throw the compliment, 'wow, your hair is beautiful'. (even if she has a nice body, don't EVER make that an early compliment...stick to hair, eyes, something else).

If she giggles, laugh back and take it from there. Don't blow it, because the ball's in your court and it may be 100% up to you to keep the conversation going, and you never know what stop she's going to get off the train. Throw in something about school or work, the music she's listening to, the coffee shop you two should jump off the train to hit, etc.

Something will give, if not for the sole reason that you have the social personality to entertain her with conversation.

Go into these things thinking most women are sweet and kind, and just laugh it off if they blow you off.

Lol hhhmmm yeah you got me

Posted by starsearcher on Jul-06-2004 14:49:

Hmmm yeah I think Digital MP is a little more correct than Skipper...she obviously didn't seem like that at all and I'm 100% sure I wouldn't have been ignored...Besides I look totally harmless

Maybe I was right when i said that 99% of the women in the city suck then cause according to Skipper they actually do...
