Wink

i've seen this artists name on napster all the time but i never bothered to download any of his/their stuff. i just recently downloaded "adelante" and i really like it. if you like the "sash!" sound too, can you recommend any other good tracks by him/them...i want to hear more.

Posted by trancaholic on Jan-20-2001 02:35:

Gasp! Shock! Horror! You're saying you've only recently learned about "king of the radio"-Sash! Well, they made Equador, which is my (and a lot of others) favourite euro-house/pop-techno song of the 90's. That as well as their breakthrough "Encore Une Fois" - look for the Future Breeze mix - is well worth checking out. Yeah, I'd even go as far as saying they're essential to any kind of record-collection.

i'm from canada...they don't play this type of music on the radio here...but it is becoming more and more popular in the clubs.

Euro Commercial Crap

Sorry to say, but I hate this kind of Commercial Euro Pop Creators!! What a shame that most of this Crap (ATB,Sash,DJ Balloon,Scooter,Aquagen and so on are coming from my Home Country in Germany. Luckily there are some Artists and DJ's here producing on a higher Level...Cheers Pals !!

Shame / Disagreement

No offence trancholic, but "Equador" is the stupidest track I ever heard.. it's an insult to techno music!!!

Posted by helm on Jan-20-2001 10:42:

Smoking ..umm..something damn you

Sash sucks big time. Better listen to sasha instead!

Shame / Disagreement

It's a shame to say that sash is good out in the open.
ALL the tracks he has made realy SUCK, it can't be called trance either

Hello! ...be happy...

geeze.. havn't we been over this enough. don't bash other people's opinions... give you own constructive one. anyway, my opinion is that sash isn't trance really.. it's just dance music with some trancy samples.

cya

My " constructive" comment

Sash stinks, i think he was good when you were about 13, i think he rates up there with vengaboys and ATB. Sorry man but your life would have been so much better if you hadn't have d'loaded that track.

peace

Hehee. No offense taken, mate. I try to reserve adjectives like crap and sucks for country-"music" and blues. but anyhow...sash! is happy music, and I think it has "lured" more people into trance than any other electronica, and they will certainly be remembered long after Tiesto is gone...

Posted by biznology on Jan-21-2001 03:36:

Don't get me wrong... I respect everyone's personal taste and try not to rip on anyone's opinion, but when you say Sash is bigger and more influential to the scene than Tiesto.... oooohhhhhh you've crossed the line!!!

Posted by rockster77 on Jan-21-2001 13:50:

well...the only song by "sash!" that i've heard is "adelante" and it sounds pretty trancey to me. sash! is relatively unknown where i'm from...so i guess i don't hate them yet...people have a tendency to dislike artists whenever they come into the mainstream...i don't know why this is. maybe because their tracks get so over-played. atb has become pretty mainstream here...and his music does tend to get a bit ever-played...but i'll have to admit...i really like his sound. i guess it comes down to a simple question...do you like the song or don't you? is sash!, for example, that bad...or is it that you just have a fear of conformity...do you just want to be different from the majority...do you hate the fact that you have to share your musical taste with everybody else. i'll have to admit...trance really is the most amazing sound around...but i also like the fact that it is not mainstream where i'm from...i like the fact that it is not over-played on the radio...i like the fact that the music that i love it not shared with everyone...but this will not stop me from liking a song that sounds good just because it is mainstream.

(p.s. - check out simcut's trance vinyl list in the unknown track section...i think you will find "sash! - adelante" on it.)

Sash is cool!! once again just cuz it's commercial doesn't mean you won't like it (even tho we all dun like to admit it )... I like Equador from Sash personally...

latez...

Posted by djfred on Jan-22-2001 01:39:

what about mysterious times. i don't mind that one... but just don't play it at a party..hehe

Posted by Dj Furee on Jan-22-2001 01:41:

Cool

I just listened to the song (equador) again to refresh my memory and I think that a proper remix can make it a wicked wicked song, it has potential peepz...

latez...

Posted by tu_face on Jan-22-2001 09:46:

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Sorry, not sash please.....

Way over the commercial line years ago! There are a couple of good remixes of his tunes done by REAL trance artists (e.g. adalante - dumonde remix is ace) but most of it is euro-dance-pop bollocks made for ppl who havent a clue whattrance is. My best advice is to steer well clear of sash unless he's got a decent name next to the remix! As someone's already said, listen to sasha instead its much better!!

Peace

Posted by Dj Furee on Jan-23-2001 02:55:

Wink

There's peepz on this board who have a clue about what trance is and like Sash so dun be too quick to judge... that's all...

latez...

Drunk

Sash!=Europop, they don't play it in America so I dont blame them for not playing it in Canada. Encore Une Fois was the only song that I somewhat liked by "Sash!" but then I heard it at "A Night at the Roxbury" and I was like, damn, sash must be hella sellout bullshit. Thats Just my opinion. Speaking of sellout, has anyone seen the BT barbie and the new Macintosh Commercials featuring BT?

how on earth can you insult blues.. non of this would exist if it weren't for blues...

progression = blues and jazz --> funk/soul (jungle breaks) fuck -> disco disco -> house house -> trance

besides .. blues is amazing by itself .. let alone in that context...

It was quite easy really. "Blues stinks". Look I did it again

No, seriously I respect it if you like blues, and even if you hum along to country-"music", but when I have to describe *my* feelings about it, I have to resort to negative words. You should be able to respect that as well, like I have to respect that almost everyone at this board don't share my views on Sash!

Posted by Joel Fielder on Jan-23-2001 17:31:

Hello!

Sash! = cheese.

He writes using a set of rules and unfortunately that's what commercial record companies want (mass market product). It's they who are to blame, not Sash! himself.

Posted by m0sh on Jan-23-2001 17:39:
