Doom 3 Anticipation Thread

Since we are all nerds in here, who is looking forward to doom 3?

I am, personally I think it will be the next step in computer games. Real time physics and lighting will make the games we play seem a lot more real and thus more fun.

Assuming its not some realistic boring soccer simulation

Lol, well I am certainly looking forward to it, this and Half Life 2, even though both games won't run very well on my computer. Is there a date as to when Doom 3 will be released? I heard that it is early August, is this accurate?

the confirmed date that doom 3 will begin shipping is august 3.

bring it!! Been looking forward to this one for way too long. I played the alpha waaay yback when... and I was impressed by the graphics even that early on.

Shame we will all need 256MB graphics cards to run it with all the settings on high (anyone ever wondered that it took so long to release simply coz they were waiting for the video cards to be fast enough?)
