Mixed??!! Well, 14 tracks on 1 CD is too much anyway for nonmixed tracks.

Me no getty this one then as i would've wanted this to be like the first 2, unmixed with full length tracks.

Am I the only one who noticed that the tracks on this compilation are pretty old except the 2 tracks by Nu Nrg and the last track?

No, 6-12 months ago I'd have jumped at the chance of a mix like that, now i'd be less enthusiastic, we need another breakthrough cd like TPOD tbh

Well I sent an email to info@vandit.com and they replied just minutes later.

Yes it's mixed by Paul van Dyk.

Kind regards,

I really wish this would have been unmixed.

hmmm.. This CD is totaly & uterly pointless when its mixed now isn't it? I always thought that the "Vandit Sessions" series was about giving CD-Djs a chance of playin' vandit releases..

oh well there is probably a lot of thought behind the decision of changing the concept to a mix cd. I dont think the unmixed version sold too well... (heck I even bought Sessions01 from estonia on a sale for about 4£). Mixed CD will probably be a lot more popular in the bigger audiences who are not into "the thing" as much as we are.. I mean an ordinary person has never even heard about these names that appear on the cd. He/She will just look "oh, a new cd by that Paul van Dyk guy" I might as well buy it..

Only a few (mostly PvD's singles) get released on CD along with the vinyl releases.

Might buy it if I run into it on my local music shop (very unlikely).

Posted by skip on Jul-18-2004 00:04:

fuckers! what a shit compilation! bah! this makes me dislike pvd even more! not too good tracks and then it's mixed too! go pvd! does the stupidity ever stop?! thank god he doesn't mix his singles anymore though.

very fucking disappointed in this one! sessions 2 was nice but this is beyond shit right here!
pvd = dumbass
IMO!

Posted by ASOT100 on Jul-18-2004 09:28:

not that I was gonna buy it or anything, i don't even have cd decks

MIXED?!?! WHAT THE %$#& ?!

Sorry, let me restrain myself. After all it only took a year or so to actually make...

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING PAUL? DOES IT TAKE THAT MUCH EFFORT TO SLAP A BUNCH OF ALREADY DIGITAL FILES ONTO A CD AND SELL IT?

Ok, I'll be good *rips off caps-lock key*. Crap, it looks like I have a second one...

IS VANDIT SO LAME THAT THEY CAN"T PRODUCE A SIMPLE CDR WITH AN INKJET LABEL LIKE A DECENT LABLE DOES? LIKE LOST LANGUAGE? OR OFFER THE FILES DIGITALLY LIKE AUDIOJELLY?

Your stated purpose was to make a cd for cd-dj users who wouldn't be interested in buying vinyl. But unlike any modern label, you are now only doing so for the releases of the label owner.

I understand if they weren't selling in stores, but even at the shipping rate you charge, you could easily make a profit from selling CDRs with inexpensive cd labels. Or even better, sell them digitally, and thus you aren't even coming close to cannibalizing your original markets.

CD-DJs are just like any other DJ, we want to share the music with others.

Good Job Paul.

why do you think replying to a forum on tranceaddict is like talking to paul van dyk or his staff? go get an email add from his website and send your comments to vandit.

I like it!!! It isn't hard mixed... I mean that you can easily mix a track over PvD's Mix in your set.
But sure, it can be better to have a non-mixed cd.

That makes alot of sense ... too much sense for people on this board that like to bitch rather than being proactive in expressing what they want to the music labels. If there is a large enough demand they will probably give you what they want. If not, well you can't expect them to do anything they are not going to make money off of.

It's called a rant. I understand it isn't useful for actually doing something. Relax, I was just getting it out of my system. If you were to look at my posting history, which you were too lazy to do, you'd notice that my previous post in this thread was my only such rant, so there goes your "like to bitch rather than being proactive" theory.

You want to talk about being proactive? Is purchasing nearly every one of their cd releases proactive enough for you? Really, I can't think of anything the speaks louder than cold hard cash.

My original point stands: they originally released the Sessions series to give CD-DJ users something to spin with. Now, they don't. And really, if they'd actually make it reasonable to buy their cds, they would have made more money on it.
