Unfortunately, the (Sony) MDR-V500DJ sucks just as completely as the rest of the MDR-VFLOPDJ line. I've listened to the MDR-V500DJ before, and it sounded harsh and thin. Even some $30 headphones sound better than the MDR-V500DJ, in my extensive experience. Not worth the $80 US price, I'm afraid.

dont burst my buble i got em 90 canadian which is like 45 us but anyways its better then alot of the shite out thier

True, there are many better sounding headphones. But I had a pair that lasted me two years before i gave em' to my dad, who abused the crap out of them. Considering how durable they are, i wouldn't really consider them that bad.

Actually, $90 Canadian is more like $70 US nowadays. You see, the value of the US Dollar has fallen to its lowest point in 10 years.

i had the v500s for about 3years and they were o.k. for the first set of headphones but when i got my hd 280s, those blew the pos v500s. imo they're too small and the bass is too soft and it doesnt have a deep clear sound like the 280s.

i got my 500s for 80 i think 3yrs ago. got my hd280s this jan for 80$ pricematched at guitar center.

Yep, I agree with that. $90 Canadian, as I said before, is *almost* the full $80 list price when converted into US Dollars.

Hey, wait... You're in Canada, eh? Then unless you spend way over $100 Canadian, you won't find much in the way of good-sounding headphones. The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, for instance, if it's even officially available in Canada, will cost you about $200 Canadian. Converted to US Dollars, the legitimate Canadian resellers will charge you more than $150 US for that HD280. And that's not so good of a bargain, at that price.

I can get the HD280s for about 165 CDN, probably less actually, there on my next Headphone list along with the HD25.

<-------Likes the HD-280pros too. He would trade sony v500, v600, v700, and v900 in a instant for hd-280s.

congrats on the new headphones. i've used v500s before, they arent that bad. if you like them and they're the best headphones that you've ever owned then thats cool. enjoy them. there are always gonna be people out there that need to point out that there are better "whatever" than you have. dont sweat it.
