This is really good stuff! I'm surprised that they got interviews from so many influential artists, and it looks like it's pretty accurate...

You have done a great service.
I didn't know Paul Oakenfold was gay.

Very informative
How I understand why house is superior to trance
I like this, thanks for sharing. I'll check it out shortly. Only thing that bugs me is the RealPlayer format... so inelegant... ugh... oh well.
Ah, disco's revenge.

I have a big problem with the history as presented in this series.
It totally ignores what was going on in continental Europe. Electro outfits like Kraftwerk and later New Wave bands really led the way for EDM years before Chicago House existed.
If you don't believe me, listen to "Situation" by Yazoo, recorded in 1982.
I'm not saying the Chicago school wasn't important, but rather that it was simply one step in the evolution of EDM, NOT the origin of it.
Hmmm I know what you mean by that, and it's true there were Americans frustrated because they tried to bring forth EDM in America and their efforts were soundly rejected, so they went overseas.
But does the documentary claim to be so comprehensive? Obviously in saying "The History of House Music", there was kinda that big thing known as acid house overseas
I would imagine any "Encyclopaedia Electronica" would be a nightmare.
I actually have not watched this documentary . . . will have to make time sometime.
I'm glad alot of people found this interesting !!!! I was talking to RENE from Blackmarket records in Toronto about this and he even showed me his PARADISE GARAGE member card. I couldn't believe it!!! If you want to know a little bit more about the paradise garage or the introduction of house to the UK I suggest you go and see him.
nice one mate, its a pretty wicked doco, but a tad bit on the jerky side
i've been forever looking for part two and three , thank you so much for sharing them !! i can't wait to watch them
