Stupid ass stores

So im in canada on vacations and i go into future shop. I decide i head over to the music section and start to brose. I cant find any electronic so i go over and ask the dude if they have any. He Goes "electronic music? oh you mean dance music" he takes me over to the "dance section" well in the "dance section" theirs 3 differnt catagorys "underground" which had tiesto pvd and some others, Then theres the "tecno section" which had markey and fatboy + others and the "other tecno" section which has enya. WTF stupid ass stores need to learn there fucking styles of music

btw is it just me or is nova scotia hicks-vill .

yep, america is like that as well. they have a fuckin underground section like wtf, how is this shit underground music? our virgin mega store just closed around where i live so no more store electronica music for me, all online.

Im thinking about starting to order online as well... problem is id have to get the place to re-rap it so i wouldent have to pay import taxes. But yea stupid ass stores piss me off. Virgen megastore in london and the HMV in vancuver are the only good stores iv been to that arent geered totally towards electronic music

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Jul-10-2004 19:03:

yep, those virgin megastores are pretty good for electronic music. there still late as fuck tho with most albums and such. online is always the best for electronic music, unless you have a virgin around you. i have a bunch of best buy's but they can kiss my ass, they dont even have a dance section, all they have is the new tiesto album and involver.

werd, where do you get your songs online?

Posted by Dave Piazza on Jul-11-2004 02:39:

www.juno.co.uk
www.ukdancerecords.com

These are two of my favorite sites where I buy 90% of all my wax. Always have the newest singles out first and are very good about shipping. Have not any problems with either merchant since I've been a steady customer for 2 yrs. These two sites are the best bet to find EDM wax if you live in the US. I live in Chicago and the records stores here don't carry enough EDM or their supplies are very limited so if your not at the store 24/7 you luck out in getting a hold of a hot record.

well ya future shop kinda sucks ass for electronica music... i dont think ive ever gotten any thing from there besides the odd dvd...
which city you speek of cause those 3 sections seem like 2 more then the future shops here in winnipeg hehe...

i would suggest hmv... though prolly not the best... a hell of alot better then future shop

Posted by priveye03 on Jul-11-2004 04:01:

www.only-djs.com if you know alot of people that buy records. Otherwise shipping is just to expensive to the US.

www.planetxusa.com my personal favorite. You have to order like 4 records at a time but it is ok.

yeah this future shop was in halifax nova scotia, beleive me theirs a fair amount of hicks here so i can imagine why theyd skip out on the names for the electronic section and instead put it down for the celtic/country departments

Online is the best place to get you records...
My fav: juno.co.uk
sweet16.com (former hooj.com)
dancegrooves.com (a bit pricey on the shipping part)

Somethimes I also order from: massiverecords.com

is there an HMV in hicks-ville?
hit that.

HMV is quite good here for electronic music.

I've been all over town looking for Armin's A State of Trance cd... can't find it at all!

Gotta get it online, I guess.

I saw like a dozen copies of this at the store.

What store?? I wish there was at least a Virgin store around here(went to one in Cali and I thought the selection was pretty nice)... all we got are crappy Best Buys, Sam Goodys, etc. I even checked out the two local Border bookstores and they didn't have it... although their edm selection is the best I've seen locally. The only Armin cd they had was his 76, which I already had.

Virgin Megastore isn't too bad, they have some decent CDs but their genres are fucked up of course

i just go to gramaphone in chicago.

bought from dancrecord.com a couple times.

there's a place out in the burbs here called mix-a-lots that always has one or two good tracks.

looking forward to visiting/shopping in toronto in a couple weeks.
