Cool Runnings

Just saw this film again and it reminded me how fun it was. But I'm wondering, what part is real and what part is fiction in that story? They say it's based on a true story, but I wonder how much has been changed.

"A bobsleigh is very simple to use-"
"So is a toilet!"

In retrospect, it doesnt seem very fun... but during the film...

The team really did crash and then carry the sled across the finish line.

So that bit is true? Must've been a lifetime experience for those who eye-witnessed it

Me too... I guess I watched it countless times with my mates, when I was 8 or something.

When I first saw this part as a kid, I didn't get it, but I did a while ago. It's the part where they first get to Canada and they step out side only to see that they are breathing out smokey breath because it's so cold. One of them asks "Sanka, What you smokin'?" and he replies "Nuthin'" or something like that. Does anybody remember that part. Laughed my ass off when I finaly go the punchline.

I used to watch that all the time as a kid. The only line I remember is the little chant they did at the beginning...

"Feel the rhythm, feel the rid, get on up, it's bobsled time. Cool Runnings!"

Sad that that's the only phrase I know, but the last time I saw it I was like, nine.
