King Arthur or Anchorman?

I'm going to the movies tomorrow with a friend and neither of us care which one we see. So, for those of you who have maybe seen both, which did you like better? Or you can just post what you thought of either movie if you only saw one

Is it just me or does Anchorman not look funny. I have seen the trailer and numerous clips and have not laughed once. I like Will Ferrel but Im torn on spending 9 bucks to see this. King Arthur just looks like a bad movie to me. If anyone saw either please post because I think I will go to the movies tomarrow.

I realize its a lil off topic.. but.. I think girls are a alot more critical of beauty in other women.. then guys are.. SO. that being said.. If girls think Kiera Knightley is hot.. then HEY theres a good reason to spend $10 (7.50 students hahaha) on Arthur. besides.. Anchorman looks funny.. buts its totally a downnny N loaded movie.. know what Im sayin?

if you like to spend your ten dollars simply to stare at one girl the entire time because you think she's hot, go see king author...to me, that's what HBO's for...

for others who want to get the most out of their money and see a clever story with a ton of hilarious scenes in them, go see Anchorman. go to the movies for the experience, not to check out chicks. you could do that at a club...or in zurich...

Anchorman looks like a movie that's trying too hard to appeal to the comedic aspects of life. From the previews, it doesn't seem like there's any worth to the film. Just a jackass on the screen making tired old jokes in an attempt to keep his career still going.

King Arthur is going off a tale that most children hear when they are younger, and looks as though it actually has the potential to be a good film.

... and kiera knightley is hot... lol No I totally agree, but of course its up to opinion. But if one had to choose, I would be personally more inclined to pic a film that had more a complete cinematic appeal to it. And what I mean by that is.. there are just some movies that are better off being seen in the movie theatre.. Arthur looks to be just that... and anchorman.. well it will still be funny on dvd or on .avi or what have you..

well since i actually saw achorman, i can tell you that these are one of those times that you disregard the trailer and question who youre using your condescending language against...will farrell is not even close to becoming tired, he's not the only funny person in the film, and he's starring woody allen's next film, which is a big deal...so discrediting will farrell now is like dissing jim carrey after dumb and dumber...

i never said king author was gonna be bad...however, credible and respected movie critics havent exactly called this a must see and/or give it rave reviews across the board (on the other hand, every critic has loved anchorman)... again, if you wanna see it just to look at keira knightly, save the 10 bucks now and wait til it comes out on dvd, and you can see her as many times as you want for merely $4... but if you want to be wise with your money, spend it on the movie experience known as Anchorman...

king arthur looks like utter shit. growing up, it was one of my favorite legends and i think that this movie really kills it. i do not plan on seeing this movie simply because i don't want to waste money on shit. i would rather read the legend for free. at least that version is good.

Well eventhought his post is almost dead I had to say that I went to Anchorman tonight and I am still laughing and quoting it. I would highly recomend it to anyone who wants a laugh. Really good comedy movie. The weatherman who was in Bruce Almighty and sometimes in the Daily Show steals it and there are great guest appearances(Jack Black's is the best).

well i dont know about all time...will farrell is hilarious, but he doesnt hold a candle to the marx brothers, charlie chaplain, or woody allen...

Posted by toxa on Jul-14-2004 17:26:

I dunno guys.....I will have to disagree with you........don't get me wrong....Will Ferell is the my favorite comedic actor, I have watched "NIght at the Roxbury" and "Old School" hundreds of times, but I really was disspointed after seeing Anchorman. Sure there were a few funny scenes, but thats about it. I was really dissapointed...

Posted by dj tek on Jul-14-2004 17:29:

maybe its an inside joke you didnt get ?

Posted by madhattared on Jul-14-2004 17:37:

Anchorman:
Script: meh ok
Funny scenes: hilarious
Acting: Cheesy Funny

without the weatherman the movie would have been blah but he made it pretty good.

"San Diego, it means Whale Vagina."

"I Love Lamp"

Posted by toxa on Jul-14-2004 17:40:

Maybe its because I had very high expectations...same with Starsky & Hutch..the movie was ok....but I expected so much more
