synths

where do the producers use for synths. like the sound of nature.. what program or hardware did he use to make it? and where do these producers get it ?

I'm not sure that your question is clear enough for someone to answer. (Or it could be that I just don't know what the hell you're talking about.) Can you clarify this at all?

a synth is the sound that is played by keyboard. well there are programs like absynth 2.0 that is a synth that you hook a midi controler upto and play. i'm asking where could i find the synth that plug 'n' play used to remix the sound of nature or any really good sounding synth..

i currently have
cubase 2.0
logic audio 5.5 and 5.10
absynth 2.0
reason 2.5

umm just fuck with the sounds till you find what your looking for..or just by a hardware synth..also im sure he knows what a synth is.

is there any website that might have some freeware synths that sound decent?

wrong section, this must go to the production studio.

everyone uses different synths.

MJ, use DC++ to search for .rfl files. they are reason refills, that should give you some more rescources.

Why on Earth would you have Logic Audio 5.5 and 5.10 along with Cubase 2.0?

Posted by noikeee on Jul-12-2004 17:29:

dude you seem a bit lost

there are two types of synths: hardware and software. hardware has the reputation of sounding a bit better, but it's expensive. back then when tracks like sound of nature were produced, software wasn't as spread out and devoloped as today so it probably was made with an hardware synth. the "legendary" one used in many tracks from that time was the roland jp8080

but nowadays there's the software option. cheaper than hardware, downloadable if you go the illegal way. you already mentioned one of the popular software synths nowadays, Absynth. others very popular are Z3ta, Vstation, Albino, Synth 1 (which is actually free), etc. probably harder to get that "massive" sound, but if you mess around enough you might get something similar

and then there's the third option which is loading hardware samples into good samplers like the ones in Reason. if you go this way you'll be a lot more limited, since you cannot really edit the source of the sample
