<--------- raver, non-clubber

to be honest with you in the USA the majority of clubs dont play trance music, people who usually go are not interested in the music, and most importantly the "club" culuture in america is not one created around music but rather hype( i.e. whats cool, whos cool, etc.) . So to say that someone who goes clubbin knows dance music is the biggest bullshit anyone can say.I think going to see PVD, Tiesto, Sasha, etc or going to Sensation imo is not considered clubbing. This is more like going to an event or a concert. To me, understanding EDM requires much much more than just "clubbin". If your passionate about the music its a 24/7 thing not just a fri./sat./ sun/ expereince. TO know music you need to really listen to alot of music, go to record stores, read alot online about it, start to learn how to spin, etc. If your at a young age your probally just excited about the "expereince" of clubs, but learn from your elders when I say ...."dont forget it should always be about the music and nothing more"

I go clubbing but I don't listen to trance.

Besides, what's the point of this thread? Clubbing is (to me) the best part of the whole EDM thing (besides spinning), so why not do that?

+1

My dancing ability sucks, so i don't go out clubbing. I prefer listening internet radios and livesets at home.

Too much rnb/cheese music around to go to any clubs where i am. Only on occasions do we get something worth attending... So no i dont go clubbing much

Posted by idoru on Jul-13-2004 10:27:

I don't go clubbing.

For one, not one event here is all ages, as far as I've seen. Me being 17 puts a bit of a damper on things.

Along with that, as mentioned above, the US scene sucks. No interesting DJs in this area; not much trance unless the bigger DJs tour over here.

How you can say that is beyond me ... London has one of the thriving club scenes anywhere in the UK ... what about Turnmills, The Cross, Heaven, Fabric, etc?

GC @ Heaven regularly has PvD, Tiesto, Oakie, Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, Armin, etc

The Gallery @ Turnmills has A&B, Armin, John Askew, Ferry, Eddie Haliwell, etc

I go clubbing every weekend.

Clubs in LA are the only place you can get good trance music and also have an over 21 crowd. I do not go to 'raves', as I don't want to be dancing around children, and prefer to be around people my own age.

Posted by UnBracKo on Jul-13-2004 14:28:

I listen to trance and I go clubbing every weekend I can, but in techno clubs
clubbing is the best, I need it! I can't stay one saturday's night at home without going out, even when I have exams!

Posted by GMT on Jul-13-2004 14:30:

Drunk

The clubs here in the US don't play trance.....lol to start with they don't know the diff between trance and techno....cheese and rnb is all you get....
