headphones

need some good headphones for hearing my music at home without annoying my parents do you have any good tipps some examples? i don't want to use them in a professional way like djing or sth. else. just at home and at lan-sessions with friends. and what do you think about wireless headphones with a station?

See the headphones thread...its 4 threads down on the list...
EDIT: actually that one might not be so good...its mostly dj phones, so ill tell you this. I have some wireless headphones, and i love them, but for listening purposes only (no good for djing)

no, its still a good thread (the sticky one at the top) check it out! also, if you are asking a more specific question, and also as that sticky is obscenely long, is there a pricerange your looking at?

my mate has some sennheiser cordless ones that he uses to listen to music whilst he walkin around his house (3 storey victorian house with thick walls!) not sure what model no they are but there well cool if you wanna wander around. sound quality is top notch!

Can't recommend Senn's enough great sound quality very comfortable, just fantastic well worth the price.

how much are you looking to spend?

the sennheiser hd-497 is a great headphone for normal use. its not that portable but for lan sessions and causal music listening in the room they are great. they are openair but they dont leak as much sound as most would expect. i got them for a friend as a birthday present and i fell in love with them.

if you want total isolation i would suggest the etymotic er-6. a bit more expencive [112 shipped next day] but they are well worth it. i got them for my girlfriend and she [and i] love them. very portable too and pretty good looking to boot.

if you want to spend less than 50 dollars then i woudl recommend the sennheiser px-100 for about 40. they are also portable and sound pretty good.

If you plan on taking them with you, like a walkman type application, I'd suggest the Sony Eggo's. Not the greatest for just sitting and listening, but they are some of the best portable headphones I've heard.
