Dancing Dude the 'techno dance'

sooooooooo. i was wondering, if there was that universally accepted dance/movement that you do when in a club (or at home ) when listening to techno/trance/house kinda music.
because i've always thought it was a moving like you feel kinda thing, but there seems to be that wildly moving your arms in front of your body while standing almost still thing, that most people characterize as THE TECHNO DANCE

so if I may ask. is there such a thing?

how do you dance?

do you have some recurring pattern or are you the 'moving like i feel even if it looks totally stupid' type of person, like me?

Not really... in my experience it varies depending on where in the world you are.

Gatecrasher kinda had it's own "dance" but it was really just flapping your arms about quickly.

People who think about their dancing too much don't realise they actually look like complete spanners. I love it when you see some twat pulling off his moves, you can just imagine him practicing in front of his bedroom mirror with his PvD mp3's on

different genres have different ways of dancing...

with trance, u either dance really hard..or stand still and do the whole liquidy thing to the melody..which i find gay

breaks, i think prolly requires the most skill and drugs, and looks really cool when done right

house i think is the most fun to dance to, its a bit slower and allows you to move with the beat and get dirty on the dancefloor

as for dancing at home...i perfer the bobbing of the head, requires least effort ..and helps me save energy for the dancefloor

Ah, I don't care too much about being self-conscious. If everyone danced the same, that'd be awfully conformist... as silly as you may think someone may be, hey, they may know it and just may be out to have the time of their life. Don't let psychological wankery & tomfoolery get in the way of your fun!

definitely. being used to house parties i dunno how the fuck i would be dancing to trance. that's why one of my dreams would be to be on a big progressive event, it adds the dancing coolness of house with an actually decent musical content that i relate to

i just try to be spontaneous, trying not to be totally random neither, like move along with the beat or something

I say go with the beat.

I dont think there is a universal way to dance to techno, trance or whatever. Just feel the music and go with it for trance, for techno... umm...drink lots of coffee and start having spasms... and then you`ll be just like everyone else

The simplest thing I guess that would be accepted anywhere would be the raver bounce. Just jump around and shit. Especially if there is no room to dance, thats all u really can do.

Haha! The whole "liquidy" thing! I've always wondered what people were thinking while doing that. Now I know they were thinking - What would a river be doing if they were standing here?

Looks at sig.

I don't really dance, I'm more of a trainspotter, and I just stand there. Mostly people think I'm really fucked up.

I think a perons style of dancing should be related to whatever makes them feel comfortable. I mean shit, who cares if everyones not doing the same thing, as long as your having an awesome time, thats all that matters!

Please don't look at me while im flailing about heh.

There are definately patterns in the way ppl are dancing, I dont think there is any sort of standard tho. And there always seems to be "that one guy" at parties that dances way too much in his spare time, then comes to a party to be an attention whore, rofl. It cracks me up quite a bit, every female that walks buy and this dude starts walkin up to them and doing his psycho dance thing, good times right there.

Back when there was that hamsterdance fad and everyone made their own versions of it there was one that had little cartoon pics of ravers and alot of goofy dances that one would commonly see, I wonder if that is still around anywhere
