Roll Call for Nuno's (7/16)

Now that trance nights have been moved from Thursday to Friday, the turnout this week best be better than last week's. And on the plusside, James (Rememberence) and Dave (DJ Octane) are also residents there, spinning GOOD trance for the crowd. So who's in for this Friday?

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-15-2004 22:10:

hey dave and james,

don't forget, if you have any promotional items (fliers etc) bring them on friday so i can get them passed around.

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-15-2004 22:23:

We don't have fliers or posters or anything ourselves but Jojo'll have em no doubt! See you guys there : )

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-16-2004 04:14:

what time will everyone be showing up? does hoyt post here?

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-16-2004 04:43:

I'm driving up with Erica at 6pm, Dave and Carlos may be coming with me but I'm not sure... I'm aiming to be there by 7:30pm mate, hopefully traffic permits me to do so.

Posted by DeviantxPete on Jul-16-2004 06:56:

I'll be there around 8 I suppose.

Posted by DJ_Octane on Jul-16-2004 07:24:

I'll be leavin' about the same time as Packer. I need to see who is coming up with me besides Carlos (Scorpio). I say once we get there, we figure out the time slots and act like its closing at 12:30.

That's the address to Nuno's. Mapquest for directions. If you're going, we should be loitering around the DJ booth. See you there.

Was fun tonight. Great sets by everyone (with the exception from that one little messup from Dave, tsk tsk tsk) Nice to meet some new people there as well too. And thanks Raymond for the beer. I never knew I could drink that much and still not get in a drunken state See you guys next week.

F*ck, what a night! This was the first time I had a set to myself at Nuno's (usually Dave and I play versus), it was 45 minutes, a decent length set. The difference being that tonight there was actually a decent sized crowd too, like about 60 people I would say! Won't go into too much detail but in short, I really, really enjoyed the night and loved playing the hard tunes that I did -

1) Sunblind - Believe (Nu NRG Extended Remix)
2) Rank 1 - Symsonic (Dumonde Remix)
3) Andy Hunter - Go! (Antillas Remix)
4) Delerium - Heaven's Earth (Matt Darey Remix)
5) The Moon feat Nu NRG - High Volume
6) Ferry Corsten - Punk (Cosmic Gate Remix)
7) Fragma - Say That You're Here (Hennes & Cold Remix)
8) Vengaboys - Cheekah Bow Bow (Transa Remix)

Dave mate, you ripped it up my friend, cept for a bit of trouble in a couple of spots, enjoyed your set all the same though, good work! Carlos went off too, damn that was good. Unfortunately I had the same trouble with the MD recording as I had last week... by default it is set to automatically adjust the recording volume, so when there's a soft part in a track the md compensates by making it louder. I thought I learned my lesson last week when this f*cked up the recording I made, and tonite I made sure to set it to manual recording level... but when I changed discs I forgot to do it again.

1st disc = Carlos (60 min), Sir Jackson (45 min), half of Dave's set
2nd disc = 2nd half of Dave's set, my set (45 min), Travis' set (45 min)

Sorry guys It makes all the mixing sound horrible, cos the levels jump up and down a lot during transitions. I wouldn't post any of the sets from disc 2.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Is this MC thing going to be incorporated from now on? I noticed the big guy (the dude that was cleaning up the fat, black woman's puke prior to the SA TAs arrival...forgot his name) on the mic a couple of times. I also noticed that Nuno's changed it's sign from "Bar & Grill" to "Nightclub". Changes happening so fast...fucking awesome. Kind of felt sorry for ditching Hoyt last night though, but he was the last guy on the lineup and I was hungry and tired.

I had a great time once again. I didn't expect to see so many people there. My set (from what I remember) was:

1. Underworld - Born Slippy Nuxxx
2. AR52 - Enigma
3. Scott Mac and Simon Eve - Always (Wavestorm Remix)
4. Ferry Corsten - Rock You Body Rock (F Massif Remix)
5. Marco V - Echoes (Vision Mix)
6. Jon The Dentist - Global Phases (Angelli & Nelson 2004 Remix)
7. Robert Nickson - Spiral
8. Condor - Velvet Dreams (Skylight Mix)

Great Job Packer and Carlos and can't wait for next week. Hopefully more of you guys can make it out.

I really enjoyed the set you guys played last night. Hopefully "something" will pan out with the promoters from Skyvue. I really would like to hear you guys spin there as the music is mostly ass on the weekends.

See you guys next friday!?

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-18-2004 08:20:

cheers once again Raymond fk yeh @ friday

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-18-2004 17:21:

man i forgot to get Carlos's info to that chick from skyvue. i really liked his set. realy smooth. well, i was a bit tipsy too so i'm not sure if that's saying much. :-)

Posted by DeviantxPete on Jul-18-2004 17:59:

does Carlos use TA by any chance?

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-18-2004 20:21:

Nah he doesn't right now. Probably because he hasn't been back into trance that much until very recently (he used to be into it a lot I believe), but something tells me he's getting his soft spot back

Posted by The_One on Jul-18-2004 22:24:

Some wicked tracklists there. Wish I could have made it but my work schedule always gets in the way.

Dancing Dude MONKEY!

LOOK! I CAN POST!

lol, sorry i haven't been on here lately guys, I kind of forgot about TA But anyways, Friday got a great crowd! I was surprised. Next week, I hope to get a better set slot since hardly anyone caught my set I hope for an 11-12 slot next week. I'll give JoeJoe a call and see if I can get that. He posts here doesn't he?

Well thanks all for a great time none the less and for getting my girlfriend flat-ass ass drunk, which was none-the-less amusing.

See you all next week!

Also, I'll be throwing together a demo this week to bring!

By the way, my sig below lies, I need to get the flyer scanned.

Alright. About time you posted here. Sorry about your crappy timeslot the other day. But when the booze is gone, then so are the people. Perhaps you and the other spinners will rotate timeslots on a weekly basis or something.

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-19-2004 16:52:

speaking of which, what time does trance night start? pete and i were there by 7 and someone was playing some jazzy/rnb/house stuff.

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-19-2004 19:51:

Yeah that was weird, the opening DJ was playing house, when I had expected some good choons from Hoyt, as he usually handles the opening set. Why play house on a trance night? We should get Hoyt up there for the early set next time I reckon, f*ck house.

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-19-2004 23:39:

Smoking ..umm..something

yeah, let hoyt bring in the chicks. :-p
