123dj.com . . .

I just wanted to post this so everyone here knows to not ever order from 123dj.com. This is a definite rant, so tune out if you don't wanna hear.

I've been looking for some slipmats and I found a deal at 123dj ($9.99 for a pair). After ordering, I received an email (this is about 2 days later) saying they needed some sort of confirmation. I had to give them my bank's phone number, etc., etc. This seemed shady, but I figured they already had my credit card number, so . . . anyway, another two days later, they send me an email saying my total for the slipmats was $19.64. Here I think WTF? I inquire to this and they respond that shipping is $9.65. For a pair of slipmats. So I figure whatever, it's still about the normal price of a typical pair of mats and it wasn't that big of a deal. I also figure that since shipping is so much, it will probably somewhat quick (priority mail, whatever). OVER TWO WEEKS LATER, they finally arrive, addressed to "Kevin Smith", which isn't my even my name, and on top of that, THEYRE THE WRONG DAMN MATS. So in conclusion, they overcharged for shipping, got my name wrong, and got THE ONE THING I ORDERED COMPLETELY WRONG.

Moral of the story, this place sucks serious ass, I would never do business with them again. I can't imagine in what horrible ways they could screw up expensive orders when they botched mine for slipmats so badly. Do yourself a favor and never order from this joke of a store.

Isn't Kevin Smith the creator of the movies with Jay and Silent Bob? (Chasing Amy, Clerks, etc.)

Did you try to rectify the situation? If you haven't, then you shouldn't have posted this thread. For all you know this is a fluke, and the company does fine business. You need to give them the benefit of the doubt before you rip them a new one and damage their reputation. NO MATTER how pissed off you are.

Maybe say things like "I don't reccommend them in the future" instead of things like "sucks serious ass". Because frankly, unless you've had more than one negative expiriences there, your review is bunk.

I've heard many bad things about this company. Buy at your own RISK.
DJmart.com is the place to go.

I feel bad for you.

At least it was over a pair of slipmats and not turntables...it could have been a lot worse (ie receiving a damaged tt). There's been plenty of stories on here about stuff like that.

thats exactly what I was thinking. The whole experience was horrible, I'm glad that I didn't have a bunch of money tied up in the mess. That's why I wanted to post.

And man Vert you must really have it in for me bud, whenever you respond to my messages its always pretty hardcore negative.

I have tried to rectify the situation with no response so far. I too have heard bad things about them but decided to take a gamble because I figured something as simple as slipmats wouldn't be a problem. As for doing business with them again, I wouldn't dare because of how bad the situation was this time (i.e. overcharging shipping, shitty customer service, super long order processing time, wrong item sent to the wrong person). I don't think all that together qualifies as a "fluke", I think it qualifies as bad business.

I would've been happy if it were turntables. Paying $20 for slipmats and getting turntables instead.

And Kevin Smith is the creator of those movies

Ok . Honestly I don't have it in for you or anyone for that matter. I don't even remember posting at you ever before . In this case anyway I believe I gave you the benefit of the doubt though. I didn't attack you by any means.

If I post about something in a negative manner, its usually because I've seen a situation like it before, and I disagree with something posted. But it seems that they may be a rotton company; but either way my suggestions still stand to anyone who feels they need to post something inflamitory about a retailer.

Thank You very much for your support!

As I mentioned along with a few other fellow TAs, in numerous threads before, you want to avoid shopping at the following websites at all costs:

123dj.com
hollywooddj.com
planetdj.com
sixstardj.com

Cheers...

Don't forget not to shop at htfr they apparently are the worst.
To think, if I hadn't read through that dodgy record store thread I would definatly have ordered from them, they seem to have lots of records I want...

Thumbs down same thing happened to me @ 123dj.com

I ordered some record needles and they gave me the wrong ones. Also, I ordered turntables from there and one was actually broken. They tried to blame it on me by saying that I broke it. I did research on them. They send you wrong items and then try to convince you not to return them, because they're just as "good" or that it's your fault for whatever reason. There is alot of bad feedback on them....I'm just one of the stats as well...
