<psy> Chemical Jesus - Mind Twist (224kbs)

This is a rework of a tune I did a long time ago. It's a little darker than usual, but I think you all will enjoy it. All comments and criticisms.

Thanks to john and fahad for helping me host this!

Enjoy.

glad to see you finally got this uploaded mate. enjoyable tune, nice and different

even if you don't like (acid) psy alot, i recommand everyone to hear this.

one of my favorites.

Nic=Master of psy .

Posted by M1cro5lave on Jul-16-2004 20:52:

Damn, this is an awesome track. I haven't listened to psy for a long time, this track brought up some memories

I find it harder to give good comments to these kind of tracks since psy is more random imo. But the use of effects seem okay and kicks/bass and all sounds great.

One of the better tracks I've heard in this genre actually. Great work!

I love psy and I have to say this is some good shit!! Nice job nic0!! Very clear and clean, very pro sounding. Can I ask what you used to create it with, any mastering done, and finally how long have you been producing?

Posted by davinox on Jul-17-2004 00:05:

all vocal samples were done by yours truly

"hey? wanna get high? lets go!", and the laughter

all recorded on nic's shitty mic.

nic did all the work. he's a genius and he didnt use shit to make this. only reason 2.5 and lots of tweaking and talent.

Thumbs up

IMO the first part of the track sounds a little goofy, past 2:30 it sounds great all the way.Defenetly a keeper
Keep it up

ya the tune starts like with a russian beat or something haha, but at 2.30 when the real bass kicks in, it's where the fun part start .

cool track man!

no advice here heh cool fx and bass/kick

well done keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

Posted by Flotser on Jul-17-2004 22:00:

again gr8 work nick!

amazing sound & FX....
what can i add?....
IMO the kick at 7:55 came too early...
also the first 5 minutes are cool, but abit boring

and....
you know i cant resist from comparing it to "Wonka Mind Twist"...
this new version is better soundwise, but in my opinion the original was ALOT better in all other aspects - more psychedelic, much more colourful, melodic, CRAZY!!...

i have huge respect towoards you productions,
keep it up, and dont stop believing in that crazy psy spirit iside of you

Da bomb.

WOW. I don't like Psy much but this is amazing!! It sounds so professional, so clean, nothing to even complain about Great job m8!

Posted by Mike_Foyle on Jul-18-2004 07:44:

i like this its very cool. i have one complaint and its not even really a complaint its just taste.... but right near the end, around 8 minutes, where it stops being monotone and has chords and a cool bassline and acidy tune, i think if that was introduced earlier in the track and the rest of the track was based around that it would kick even more ass. i would love to make a track out (like a remix) out of that last bit. could you send me the acidy synth as a wav file for me to piss about with? just the loop in the last couple of minutes. i understand its prolly just down to the style of music that u introduced it so late. like the whole tune is a big progression, which i like, its not really repetative, but more like a story that just progresses to a climax which is the end. i like that idea alot.

This track owns me at the moment.. Hands down the best psy production that i have heard in a while.. U really should think about getting this signed.. Keep up the good work!

Liking this very much..when it started I thought "where is this going to" (with all the FX stuff) but then that incredible beat started!

Posted by John on Jul-18-2004 20:16:

heey nic, its good to see you posting here again
i dont listen to psytrance very often, but this is some crazy stuff! especially from around 7 mins!
wicked fx and sounds going on, everything sounds crystal clear.
nice work!

john

This is a sick tune!
Production is top notch for sure, the intro is f'in cool and 5:10 owns.
Only thing I would say is just to make more shit happen throughout the beginning cuz it does get a little repetitive up till the drop at 5 min -ish.
However, that's more or less a personal taste thing..

Killer tune.

Agreed.

Quality tune Nic! Very impressive!! The synth that comes in at 6 and a half minutes is great. It's just a shame the tune peaks so late. But still, great tune! FX and automation are spot on again...

Thanks everyone for the great comments. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, but I've been away.

I'm glad that so many of you non-psy fan enjoy this!

@Mike_Foyle: I'll send you a wav or midi as soon as I get a chance. PM me your email, and I will send it, but it will probably be 2 weeks before I can. I am away from home for a while.

@XeQtOr: I will probably send this and some other productions to BNE and Twisted, as soon as I finish a few more productions.

Thanks for the great replies!
