Angry Issues with Crobar door

Did anyone else get turned away at the door at Crobar on Friday (for Zabiela)?
I came dressed in a polo shirt and khakis, but I was told that I was "underdressed". WTF???
If there's going to be a dress code, please mention it in advance!

HELL YEA They were being assholes...

i got there madd early around 1030...and im waiting for ppl...i get on the line at around 11:30pm after begging two friends to come since i had the comp from clubplanet...i was already wid three other ppl...then its just a race against time cuz the comp closes at 12...we are AT the ropes, only to be TOLD that someone inside BOUGHT OUT THE ENTIRE CLUB for a private party so its closed...like WTF...a bunch of us step out of the line, but then i noticed other ppl are STILL on the line WTF -- so two of my frnds leave one waits outside for other frnds to try to go in agen, and i just decide to use my friend's "houselist" to get in (i knew sumeone that used to work for Crobar)...i plead my case and i get in cuz 1) im a grl and 2) i was convincing. but goddamnz to go thru those lengths i just dun get it...

yeah tho most ppl were dressed...like shoes n whatnot...but wait... polo shirt? thats okie...wtf!!!

Unbelievable. I hate hearing about shit like that. More reasons to discourage me even further from going out and seeing my DJs.

I think I'm gonna go across the street to the playground, bring a cooler, some lawn chairs, a couple of tiki torches, and a plastic kiddie pool, and hire a big DJ to play some CDs on my old boom box, and anybody can come.

Because at least it'd be a helluva lot easier to get into my party and probably alot less pretentious than places with stupid shit like private parties and dress codes. Shit pisses me off...

Or something.

yeah i have no idea what kinda BS crobar was trying to pull... i did get in, but only after being confused by all the people standing outside, and given funny looks by the bouncers. basically

Posted by fr0st on Jul-17-2004 11:13:

No probs here.

Posted by Shamez214 on Jul-17-2004 11:16:

all i got was "next time you have to wear a button down shirt"

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jul-17-2004 14:00:

dan i think i saw u...were u wearing a dark blue shirt? if that was u, u were on ur phone outside when i saw u -- i jus remember thinking, hm that guy looks familiar...it was madd early toO..if that wasnt u, sorry.

god if it wasnt for my friend putting me on teh houselist...shiettt...after they pulled me and my frnds off the line, i came thisclose to fukin leaving to join my other frnds at avalon, before thinking well i betta try plan B...

and about avalon, dun ask...$25 and the worst time of my life. I only stayed there for ONE and a half HOURS...and the dj sucked major ASS. yea yea u guys were telling me DON'T GO!!!

nope, that wasn't me

Posted by trunks1022 on Jul-17-2004 23:54:

apparently the story i heard from a few people near the line, or those that got in, was that the dude plunked down $50K in cash and told bouncers that he wanted to buy out the space for the night and to allow only females in for the night... hmm quite stupid if u ask me. and i'm sure (if he was inside) that he didn't get any from them

i felt bad cuz zabiela got only a smattering of applause for his awesome set last night.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Jul-18-2004 01:38:

Hmm wtf that is well harsh that someone is able to do that really. And speaking of bouncers I absolutley despise them. At Gatecrasher these days if they catch you with pill's they firstly blackmail you into giving them money or they turn you in, and then they go onto sell your drug's to other clubbers.

not very familiar with this guy.. whats his style? any dj's that he can be paralleled with? is he like an Armin, Markus, or maybe Gitelman? Glad to hear every1 had a good time, wish I could have made it.. but.. I'll still hope to see every in Central Park on the 12th

closest dj in style would be sasha i suppose. but even that is a stretch. he plays tech/prog/breaks/acid... heh. but its not even the tracks he plays, its the way he plays them. you have to see him to understand... cause sal had his doubts after listening to his set. then he saw him and he saw what all the hype was about.

thanx for the info shamez
I will definately think about hitting up his next performance in the area.

they didn't let one of my friends in as well. he wore khakis and one of those hawaiian shirts

Crobar should just change their dress code to:

Prada suit or stfu!

No luck for me, i even tried to grease the door, but then again I wasnt dropping $50k on him so I guess my $40 wasnt gonna cut it LOLS. Kinda sucked too since I was with 4 other girls and they wasnt let in either. Was in fitted jeans and a buzz t-shirt that said "I'm on the list" lols guess i wasnt on the list that night! LOLS

Posted by Sunshine79 on Jul-19-2004 14:25:

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE DEAL WITH THEM?!?!

don't they realize that they were turning away REAL Zabiela fans whou would have stayed the WHOLe night, spending money on drinks until the last minute?

there should not be a dress code unless it is enforced. I keep saying this. I have been to Crobar four times and never dressed nicely once. I wear the same stuff I wore to Arc.. jeans or capris, sneakers and t-shirts. Pat was wearing jeans, a t-shirt with a naked chick on it that said "honeys" and dirty white sneakers. we got in fine.

WTF?!

bullshit. that pisses me off.
