Sleeping Tracks

I'm wanting to make a mix of tracks to play when I sleep.. I've been listening to Gatecrasher Experience: Karma for far too long now.

Can anyone suggest some artist or specific tracks that would be good for this sort of thing. I'm talking about stuff that's even mellower than chill-out, stuff that barely classifies as music rather as psycadellic sounds with strange voices...

Any suggestions would be nice.. cause I have no idea where to begin.

ATB - Beach Vibes, 12min of beachey goodness

that's really bad for you dude, sleeping with music that is, it keeps your subconscious mind working when it's the only time of the day when it's supposed to be inactive.

Posted by raver31 on Jul-20-2004 04:51:

oliver Lieb - Dimension X ---> u will feel exactly what the title says when u finish listening to it

Posted by G`Dave on Jul-20-2004 04:53:

^^ I suspected it might be.. but I've been doing it for so long now I can't sleep without it on. The silence is unbearable.

Oh and beatman I got a sample of Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Michael Woods Remix) and its great... exactly what I'm looking for..

Got any others like it??

Check out Ozric Tentacles. They are not Trance/dance but old Acid heads from the mid-late 80's. They have some amazing ambient tunes. Waterfalls, birds, etc. Plus some super psychadelic stuff. Buy a CD of theirs I'm sure you will love it.

Sorry about these not really being dance tracks, but I'm guessing your just wanting ambient.

Another great album is Material - Material. Brings in the Inda and middle eastern sounds quite nicely followed by some very soothing sax. Try getting ahold of the Material CD's that are copyrighted before 1995. They are the ones that were produced by many of the P-Funk Allstars, although this sounds nothing like p-funk. The bass lines are incredable.

Try these out and let me know what you think. If you are looking for more dance oriented stuff I could definatly name some tracks for you

Smile

Check out Underworld's album 'Beaucoup Fish.'

Posted by bruddahmanmatt on Jul-20-2004 07:28:

GTR - Mistral

While it does have a beat that you can also nod your head to, that melody = x_x out cold in a min or two. Great sleepy choon. Plus as an epic track that's 09 min 18 secs in length you got a LOT of time to fall asleep.

Posted by G`Dave on Jul-20-2004 08:15:

Lol.. unless I've been out all night.. or I'm sick and on drowsey flu tablets.. or something like that. It can take me close to 2 hours to actually get to sleep. I think I've got a condition or something.. cause I'm fkn tired.. but no sleep... wtf?!?

Hence you get really sick of the same songs over and over.

Global Communication - 14:31
Anything by vangelis, Brian Eno, Steve Roach or R Carlos Nakai also
The "Relaxing Dreams" Volumes are very nice calming stuff...

Try Blank & Jones ambient album. It's very relaxing.
