glad to help you m8.. dont worry about the hebrew thing..
so.. how long did you live in israel??
my life story....
well im a full blooded israel, born in ra'anana...
when i was 5 we moved to the USA (my dad did his PhD) and we came back to israel in time for my bar-mitzvah (13) then we lived on a kibbutz for a year (massada) then moved to haifa (my favorite city in the world). i went for one year (12th grade) to halifax Canada and moved back to isreal after that year to get drafted... then i decided the army wasnt for me, that plus my dad had just gotten a prof job at a university in texas (at galveston)... so i applied to the big name universities around where my dad was going to work. so now i'm at Texas A&M University (whoop!) and loving every minute. btw im 20 now. i hope i kinda cleared it up, its kinda confusing. but if theres any more questions, ask, i love talking about myself
so have you ever gotten to visit america?

DJ-Kreing, no not that massada but rather the kibutz that neighbours Kibutz Sha'ar Hagolan (mabye its spelled with one s masada). its near the kinneret. i loved living there as a kid for that year... its so different, when you go to a school there all the kids have known each other since birth so they're all like bros and sis. no such thing as popularity.
DJ Energy, ya i know how you feel that i "ditched" the army some of my friends were like that, but there are many reasons i did:
* im not all that patriotic (there are other better places to live in the world)
* i DONT think a piece of land is worth more than my life (it may sound selfish, but thats what i belive).
* i had a 68 profile because im illergic to bees meaning i would not be "kravi". that and i was late with my draft proccess fucks up where you'll be placed ... meaning i would be pushing papers for 3 years, how lame is that?
* i would've been a "lone soldier", seeing as my dad got the job in texas and moved with the rest of my immediate family. i heard being a lone soldier in isreal is like going to hell.
* 3 years is way to long, add a year and in that time i have a bachleors degree.
btw even thinking back i dont regret leaving, i still talk to my best friends in isreal (they're all in the army) and they all tell me how depressed they are and how they wish they could have fun like me. most of them told me i made the right choice.
now what goes on from here? well my dream is to get US citizenship and be able to visit isreal EVERY single summer. after all the culture, social and party life is way better in isreal
but US still has the best living standards in the world (if you're rich... which i will be
). i have a lawyer who's dealing with the army and wants to set it up so i can visit isreal when i want for no longer than 3 months but if i want to live there i'll do like a 2 year army service. sounds good to me.
i also want to point out that i salute people like you who serve our country the way you do. i am proud of all of you who serve. IDF can kick anyones butt man for man.
