IT traineeship

Im doing an IT traineeship at the moment and there are "assignments" involved with it that I have to complete every month.

I have been working on the current one for a few days now but I
just need to know if the following is correct:

"Every operating system needs a boot disk in addition to the installation CD with the exception of XP. With XP you only need the CD because it can boot off itself."

not all PCs will boot off XP from the CD.

In that case you go to microsoft website and download the boot disk creator.

Re: IT traineeship

you can bet your bottom dollar that any operating system past 98 will be cd bootable.. not because of the technology of the operating system, rather that systems that have been released past a certain date, have the software drivers for a cd rom loaded into the BIOS which is then used to load your OS, so your statement is pretty much incorrect.. the only reason xp and any other cd-bootable software can be loaded, is because the drivers have already been loaded in ths bios (or "firmware").
