Release Info:

Way Out West are Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff. It’s easy to understand why their music consistently rocks dance floors throughout the world. They’re easy going music enthusiasts with absolutely no attitude and loads of talent. And after two years of almost constant production work, writing and recording, the band are set to release their third, and self-proclaimed, “best album to date.” What have Way Out West been up to for the last two years, you may ask…? Apart from performing at the Glastonbury Festival this week, and completing the first leg of live performances across the US and Europe, Way Out West have been busy in the studio concocting a new sound. They also added a secret ingredient to the djing duo, vocalist and songwriter - Way Out West introduce Omi. With just over two years in the making, Way Out West unleash their spankin’ brand new artist album, “Don’t Look Now” on September 14th 2004. Hold on to your hats my friends, “Don’t Look Now” is indeed their best album to date.

HAH!

they keep pushing the date back, nothing new for distinctive

Raaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!! Might even top Involver as my favourite album of the year!!!! Good stuff indeed, can't wait!

This album is a true masterpiece, everything sounds so perfect. Fantastic music.

Posted by DeleriuM2K on Jul-23-2004 01:21:

where have you guys heard this

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-23-2004 01:43:

Has to be mp3 because only promos are out, the album is not even released till September.

Posted by DeleriuM2K on Jul-23-2004 01:56:

are these singles or mixed or kinda just cleverly crossfaded at the end to sound like a mix

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-23-2004 01:59:

I dunno, I'll hopefully get a promo version, if not, I'll go buy the album and listen to it then.

Posted by biznology on Jul-23-2004 02:12:

theres been a promo released in london on ghetto recordings...thanks to distinctive for always getting shit pirated and then delaying releases.

tho if the album sounds half as good as Omi and most of the new tracks sound live it will be a treat|

No shit!
Their live-set at Glastonbury was breathtaking, Omi's vocals alone are enough for a year long supply of spine-chills!
And well, Killa, what can I say, it's a monster...

what a bunch of twats they need to release it as soon as possible. if they keep pushing the date back it just leaves more time for people to download the damn thing. this is definately an album id buy, but they need to understand a consumers point of view. an album doesnt get hyped for 2 or so months without it going unnoticed, and then to top it off lets push the date back. who are the wizards behind the marketing here.

Posted by DeleriuM2K on Jul-23-2004 04:26:

its so fucking true
"hey guys the promo got leaked so lets give the downloaders some more time spread the promo mp3... oh yeah, and lets let the public lose interest and let the hype die off too... then we'll release it"

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-23-2004 05:40:

Remember their last album was delayed 8 months because of label problems. How can distinctive be blamed for fuckwits with no morals, they were given the promos to review but they rather rip the ****** and put it on the net and let poor WoW lose money on releases. You know who you are, the people who hype the l33t promos of mp3's then stfu before it gets released.

Posted by Tranc3 on Jul-23-2004 05:54:

If I understood your post correctly TTA, you said that it gets pushed back because of the reviewers that rip it and release it on the net.

If that's true, what's the logic behind pushing back the release date? It's only going to give people more time to pirate it.

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-23-2004 06:06:

NO

I said that I think the people who get promos that are not sold have no decency if they rip it (they usually cry about leechers themselves, when really they don't own the work but they act like it) because WoW ends up losing profits at some point, yes the mp3 debate can go on but I'm starting to see them losing money, more than i used to. Distinctive is known for pushing release dates back, I think it is inept management (still I want on their promo list ). Most of their releases are never released on time, they are constantly pushed back, it seems that this happens to distinctive more than others and it bothers me at times because my fave artists's albums are put on hold.

From what i have heard, Vandit are the kings of hyping stuff then pushing back the release.

Jusk ask Arturo

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-23-2004 06:34:

No, you got that wrong, arturo is king of hyping lame shit and stuff that never exists. Vandit is not hype, they just never release their records when Paul is canning the tune. They don't push release dates back, they have just bad release dates, Distinctive says to be release this day, 5 weeks before that date, they push it back 4 weeks, then it happens again and repeat process.

Posted by A.J. on Jul-23-2004 06:40:

oops, my bad

Posted by djthunderbird on Jul-23-2004 13:12:

ok I admit: I downloaded this off the internet, but I will sure as hell buy it when its out! I do it with all the vinyl+cd's that I buy: I always listen to them on my computer first so that Ill know its worth the money, youknow

WoW definatellly is! I cant figure out in my mind which track is the tune of the year for me: is it lostep - burma (sasha edit) or WoW Apollo. Theyre both fckn awesome!! and the overall album is just.. perfect a nice selection between downtempo songs & full on prog-monsters

Posted by lolas123 on Jul-23-2004 16:01:

one of the best album in that year
i cant stop listen it

Posted by olafbj on Jul-23-2004 17:32:

well TTA, sometimes the labels push forward the release date, when they know their stuff has been pirated

Posted by szuchy on Jul-23-2004 17:36:

I have been listening to this for the past couple days, and it is much better than involver in my opinion. I definitely plan to buy it once it comes out. For me the highlight is "Fear".

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-23-2004 17:43:

That's true but Distinctive has always done things to it's own drumbeat imo. WoW's last album was delayed a long time because it was signed to a major label and there were problems then distinctive released it.

you're out of your mind. My mate just got his promo and we had a listen last night. What can I say. Some decent tracks...quality productions...ruined by that damn ***** incessant vocals puking all over otherwise well made tracks. The album is most decidedly down-tempo. Good for late night/bedtime listening.

A whole dub version of the album would interest me.

Better then involver? In bizarro world

September 14th is actually the US release date. UK release date is still August 30th, with the first single 'Anything But You' out in the UK on September 13th.
