Hybrid again

Ive been asking people a lot of stuff about Hybrid lately

including their album "wide/r angle".

However, I just heard "If I survive" for the first time and to tell you the truth the vocals were awful IMO.

I thought that it was just supposed to be morning sci-fi that had bad vocals. I've got morning sci-fi and i'm not too keen on blackout.

Anyways, I dont know if the original of "If I Survive" sounds any different but here is the mix that I heard it in:

It might have been altered in that one

Wide(r) Angle has the original version of If I Survive, it has vocals but the Instrumental has been released on single, not sure if full length version on CD tho, i guess only 12". Instrumental sounds exactly the same as the version on Wide(r) Angle except it has no vocals.

Here are the versions of "If I Survive" i know of:

Beber's Boleyn 'West Stand' Mix Edit I 5:29
Beber's Boleyn 'West Stand' Mix Edit II 6:20
Beber's Boleyn 'West Stand' Mix 7:23
CD Single Version 6:11
Commie Dark Dub 7:05 (only on a mix compilation)
Edit 7:32
Hybrid's Echoplex Mix 8:52
Hybrid's Echoplex Mix Edit 7:43
Instrumental 9:39
Interfearence Dub 6:37
Interfearence Remix 7:23
Original Version 9:40
Original Version Album Edit 8:41
Radio Edit 3:40
Tyrant Dub 6:47
Way Out West Dub 7:20
Way Out West Dub Edit 6:50
Way Out West Remix 7:24

I'll get back to ya on the version behind the link you gave..

Yeah, I agree. I really like Hybrid, but their stuff with vocals isn't so great.

thanks for your reply, grim reaper

Female vox courtesy of Julee Cruise on those, right?

'Cuz there's the '03 version with Adam Taylor singing...

There's a 2003 remake? Eewwww I think i might have heard it.

Heh, i'm doing some late nite snack at the same tiem and my connection is also fooling around and cutting me off randomly so it'll take a few mins more for me to ID the version used in the mix.. i'm guessing it would be original as it has no mix title but we'll see.

Julee Cruise tends to sound like some sort of New Jersey prostitute. many people dont like Adams vocals - but i think that the Maida Vale version which is a mash up of the bassline of Tears from the Moon with male vocals is pretty killer|

no worries

The version in the mix is Original.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Posted by meneedit on Jul-21-2004 23:56:

oh well i have another question now...

which tracks on wider angle dont have lyrics and kick ass?

Posted by GrimReaper on Jul-22-2004 00:11:

IMO all the tracks on Wide Angle, aka the original 1 disc release while Wider Angle is the 2 disc release with quite poorly too high recorded (most of lower freqs missing) live tracks on 2nd disc, seriuosly kick ass.

Anyways, these are all the instrumentals on Wide Angle:
4. Beachcoma
6. Snyper
7. Theme From Wide Angle
11. Finished Symphony
12. Altitude (Red Square Reprise) > only an 2:30 outro of the album
