The Second Hand Record Thread.

Who buys them,

how cheap can you bargain them for,

whats the last second record you bought,

when,

where,

Personally I love a bit of old skool acid trance and quality is onyl bought from second hand record stores, but you gotta be quick and you gotta be on the ball.

Last I bought was this track 'twisted', forget who by, but it cost me $5.00 in the valley, and I love it.

I buy alot of used records if i can find some decent ones.. my latest second hand record is the Shamen - Destination Eschaton remixes 12" for 90 cents, with Hardfloor mixes if i remember right so some acid trance for me too.

Can't remember when and where as i have so many places i buy them from.. in Finland anyway.

There is a record store in Denver that is fantastic as far as used tracks go. I have found Armin's - Communication, Nalin and Kane - Open your Eyes, and countless other classic tracks there priced between $3.99 and $7.99. I think the last one was Allure - Rejected

personally i find that going to a second hand record shop can be an absolute gold mine..

ive found no end of promos and white labels of rare old tracks in them for like 50p which is like less than a dollar, and these records are worth in excess of 30 which is about 40ish dollars.

matt hardwick once gave a load of his old records to an oxfam shop in sheffield [UK] he didnt tell anyone about it but word soon leaked out lol

last second hand tune i bought was Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel for 1

Jimmy Sommerville - Mighty Real for 50p.

Unfortunately it didn't have the Tiesto mix on it

i LOVE the dig hehehe. you gotta hit up some small record shops that don't sell many records at all.

I love going through those second-hand stacks every now and then.. Unfortunately, in the place where I live, there isn't much of it.

Last 2nd hand I bought was 'Cass vs. Tears for Fears - Giant mad world' I suppose. Not the style I usually spin (which is techno) but I like to spin a different genre every now and then

Twist and Shout. It is near Broadway and I-25. The actual streets are Alameda and (I think) Washington. You can look it up in the phone book or on Qwestdex.com.

And come to think of it, the last one I got may have been Faith - It's not over (Breeder mix) on white label for $3.99. I had been looking for that forever but wasn't sure of the title.

You sure it's that? I have never even heard about that track nor that mix. Could it be possible you have mixed it up with "Planet Perfecto feat. Grace - Not Over Yet (Breeder's It Is Now Remix) [11:20]/(Breeder's It Is Now Instrumental) [10:25]"? Just curious to know.

eBay is the place for second hand records... or second hand just about anything.

yeah but if you can find it at a local store...its sooooo much cheaper. sometimes prices on ebay get a little ridiculous because people don't actually know what they are bidding on...

Posted by NiteMer on Jul-22-2004 16:50:

That's the one. As I mentioned, I never knew the true name of it. Just heard it on some Oakie and ATB stuff back when they were still pretty good. The white label only says "Faith-It's not over (Breeder mix). Sorry about the confusion. And it is the vocal mix.
