I think this is somehow like worrying about organizing cheer leaders for a football team, in an office where ppl deals with game dates, players contracts and finances...

i love reason, but not a reason to make an appreciation thread for it

I like reason , still there are a few parts that i would like to see changed in it , like being able to use VST-I and a fix to the sequencer.

i don't think that there will be any VST mode in reason, never..

why?

because there is a rewire, and you can earn money with that.

I think people make way too much fuss over what they use. In the end it all comes down to the skill of the artist, the program/hardware is merely a tool.

Sure, I use Reason, but I could easily be using any other program out there. Reason just happened to be the one I got stuck with.

True.

I think you get used to what program you use, you develop a certain comfort level with your software, and eventually you work up the nerve to ask it out on a date, where you'll dish out the cash for dinner and maybe some drinks, in hopes that you may take your program home with you for a nightcap! then you realize, "Hey! what the hell, I already had the program at home to begin with... what a waste of time & money!

reason is a good software thingy.

I owe Reason a lot of credit. Its no longer what I use now as I use Cubase as my main sequencer (although I still use Reason occasionally via Rewire), and it gave me a solid foundation to build from. It is a great program and the one I recommend for those just starting out. Everything is so straightforward and you learn things so quickly and easily. I will always love Reason. I'm anxious to see what Reason 3 will be like.

Posted by DjSimonB on Jul-24-2004 00:51:

I can't compare it to much because it's the only production software I've properly used, but I like Reason... it does everything I, being a newbie producer, want to do, there's never been a moment in my experience with Reason where I've thought "I wish it could do *something*", it's always just a case of finding out how to do it, and I'm sure there's plenty of things I don't know about yet...

Reason rules! I've been using if fof some years now, and It got endless of possibilitys, I think it's perfect, If it something I can't do in it, I just simply rewire it to Cubase SX and then everything is rollin' just fine!

this month in remix mag Liam Howlett, from the prodigy, gives respect to reason. I would include a link of the article but it's not out yet. I'll post it when it is. This was once mentioned in another thread

I really like the new prodigy sound they made with reason, but sound quality was better in former times ("pressure in bass" , "warmth of sound" ). And although I am a big fan of prodigy, I am not sure how much they got paid for advertising reason .

I used Reason as a main production tool for a long time, and I still like to play with it. So I can understand the euphoric feeling reasons creates. But it certainly has restrictions, which I hope to be fixed in future updates...

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure he loves it but I'm thinking the extra cash makes him really love it

reason works fine, but you can't limit yourself to one proggy :P cubase is good and so is reason, although... reason is limited by the fact you can't add stuff to it, so i'll even rewire to Acid PRO for final track mixes.

shit... i messed around with SoundEffects 0.9.2. on my Mac when i was 13!! I got my samples and beats by exporting from the music RSRC files of Descent 2!!!

does anyone know how hard it is to beatmatch and loop by cutting and pasting waveforms?

lol, good times
