What should I Bring to Sweden

Heya everyone! I am studying abroad in Sweden and flyin there on 8/11...just wrapping up some stuff here before i leave los angeles...and i was wondering are there any suggestions in what i should bring during my 6 months there...???? (besides lots of clothes)

thanks!!

I cant imagine what else you are supposed to bring to Sweden. U do know that we are an industrial-country and got all the stuff that any civilized country, as United states, has. Only thing is that our electrical appliances runs on 240 volts instead of your 120 volts, so some kind of converter maybe would be necessary. Hop U will enjoy our fine country. BTW, where in Sweden will U stay?

In the US they used to have 110 and in EU 220, with exception of the UK that has 250.
To bring the world-wide voltages closer to eachother they did:
UK: 250 > 240
EU: 220 > 230 > 240
US: 110 > 120
This happened during the past years, most new equipment has allready been adjusted. If you look at the labels it says 220~250V (for. ex. on your mobilephone charger).
The output of the wallsocket should be 240V Europe-wide.

Sweeet...The location where the school is located next to the lake is a beautiful place...I'm living and studying in Vxj, which is located aprox. 150 km's from Jkpg. Just keep yourself updated with on going parties in Jnkping and elsewhere around the country and we'll settle up for a big SWETA meetup sometime

I live in Jnkping But if everything turns out the way I want, I'll move to Gothenburg in about 3 weeks...
The only other SWETA (I think ) who lives in Jnkping is Dioxys.

If you like psytrance, "Karma 3" vill be held this december. And these parties are always great! There are also quite many underground parties around Jnkping...
No upcoming trance-parties have been announced yet, but I'm sure something will come up

Hello!

I am one of the VTA:s!

Just found the right name for us today!

Vxj Trance Addicts - "the Wet's", since Vta means wet!

It is raining alot here, so that is a very appropriate name, since also there is a lot of lakes surrounding Vxj as well!

We run the club concept Club PuLS having some of the finest breed of Scandinavian Headliners in our history (see Knomaden profile at TranceClubber for history), and now we are having some work in the BackOffice to go front when rocking for next season, so we will keep U posted!

Jofawe, introduce yourself, huh! Another VTA . The PuLS Manager rookie entering the position just some month ago, and the first and earliest supporter we had . And house photographer from the 1st Edition of Club PuLS from March 8, 2003.

Cya!

Welcome!

Peace,
Anders

cool! sounds fun there...if its 150km by train from jonkoping...
will it take about 1hr 30mins? i know its about 3hr 30 from stockholm and thats around 300+

speaking of train tickets...and can anyone explain to me how the "just nu" system works? ive read about it online and tried buying a ticket but i want to make sure before i get it...thanks

Posted by knomaden on Jul-26-2004 09:39:

Vxj - Jnkping (home of VTA's and JNTA's ) has a convenience of the Krsatget, a regional train around 200 with roundtrip, and regional bus.

You can buy directly at station in Jnkping, no probs. "Just nu" is the railway site system where you get the cheapest ticket "At the moment". But get guided by your local student int'l association at Jnkping Uni, they would know the best, when you get there! When were you coming, exactly?

EDIT: Saw that in your first posting now, sorry...Aug 11, well-come, Sir! Check www.mondaybar.com and www.fokused.net to begin with, huh . The 0TTA clubbing concept - 0TTA = 08 = the area phone code for Stockholm! the Stockholm Trance Addicts...

alright...

i lived in Uppsala for 6 mos... i wish more, but that is beyond the point.

dont bring anything that isnt essential. bedclothes help...shaving shit as its expensive-

generally studying abroad involves going, experiencing and returning with a bunch of shit!

thats generally how it works. if you bring the essentials, and you can spend on the rest you will be living large(or surviving). food and incendentals are somewhat expensive, but if you travel lightly you can blend in and survive|

(or shop at H&M, just dont tell the Swedes)
