'Celsius' - Free Beach Party! Come support TOTAs and others on Sat. July 31st
It's been recently requested on our very own TOTA forum that people would love to have a beach party.
Mercure, myself, and others have put together an event entitled 'Celsius' at Cherry Beach, next Saturday, July 31st from noon to 12:30am. The event features some of our very own TOTA talents:

DJ Bios
DJ Kabo
DJ Kabo (pronounced Kay Bo) began spinning in 1996, a year after falling hard for rave culture. After spending some time with Hamilton�s Glaswegian Underground and playing numerous intimate parties, Kabo has joined us as a Beat Detective and Indya regular DJ.
Kabo�s style is dark, pumping progressive with a trance edge, but he loves to mix things up, throwing in everything from Breaks to UK Hard House to old school rave classics as the set demands.
Max Q
Steve Mack
Based in Toronto, Canada, Steve Mack has established himself in all aspects of the city's electronic music community. As a DJ Steve has been booked in many of Toronto's major clubs, including System Soundbar, Element, Jai Bar, Nasa and Red Square. He has traveled to Quebec spinning at Stereobar in Montreal and Sonar in Quebec City and has played alongside high profiled DJs such as Luke Fair, Desyn Masiello and James Zabiela.
To complement this already stellar performance resume, Steve has become one of the most successful and respected hosts of Breathe Friday's at System Soundbar and Guvernment / Kool Haus special events. He is a recent graduate of the Harris Institute for the Arts where he studied Music Production / Audio Engineering. His completed productions have brought praise and support from the likes of Chloe Harris, Desyn Masiello, Steven Caicedo and Steve Porter, and range from Deep House to Breakbeat and Progressive. With several new productions and remixes on the way, Steve Mack is sure to make his mark on dance floors worldwide as an accredited producer and DJ.
His musical style has been influenced by many different DJs and producers across the House, Techno, and Progressive spectrums; therefore, it's difficult to place Steve's music within one specific genre. However, one thing is certain; Steve Mack's music is always fresh and cutting edge. As a representation of his sound, Steve has completed the debut mix for online DJ mix series bringthebeats 001 - steve mack ranges from House, to funky German Tech to deep and dark Tech House.
Aaron Mossey
With a successful year and increasingly full DJ schedule behind him, 2004 is looking to be very busy for Aaron musically. Now with regular appearances at Toronto's elite System Soundbar and launching a new residency at Glam Boutique along side the city's brightest new talent, Aaron is set for big things. Not to be slowed, he is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Labour of Love festival at Guvernment in September. Aaron continues to host the widely popular "Beat Science" broadcast, weekly on www.eccentricbeats.com and kicked off their first ever live event headlining at the Quest in Minneapolis, MN to an amazed crowd. As A-list support continues to grow, Aaron looks to launch his studio projects in the coming year and further broaden his fan base both in Toronto and abroad.
Mike Schryer
Schryer is one of the fastest growing DJs the industry has to offer. Mike performed his debut set at WEMF July 26, 2003 with headliners DJ Orkidea and Cor Fijneman. It was lightning as he had the crowd begging for more. Mike performed subsequent sets at System Soundbar, EnTrance and Sound Emporium, and has a residency at Glam Boutique. Matt Vagrant
When asked to describe his sound, Matt explains that, "For me, creativity is the main focus. The progressive movement has been an enormous influence for me, as its forward-thinking inclination is something that I consider important to interesting music. However, the progressive genre, in and of itself, is not something that I like to constrain my sets to." According to Matt, "progressive alone, is great listening music, there's no doubt about that, but for success in a club, I like to take things in harder directions. I like to play a lot of techno. In my opinion, techno-oriented material is great because it tends to be harder and more energetic than progressive, as well as also allowing for more in the way of creativity
My mixing abilities are definitely my strength: I love to layer and cut tracks together to form something with more artistry in it. I think it's important for a DJ to not just get up in the booth and play one track after another, but to do that while being creative in various ways. I think it's important for a DJ to take their music, and be creative with it, make it new, their own, better, if you will."
Sarah Mixington
What was only supposed to be a quiet night out in the summer of 2001 quickly became much more for Sarah Mixington. Listening to circuit house and trance at the time, Sarah was easily converted to a techno fan when she found herself at Turbo Nightclub for a Misstress Barbara gig. Mesmerized by the 4/4 beat, the percussion and the speeding high hats that Barbara was laying down, Sarah went home amazed and wondering what had just occurred.
It didn�t take long for her to realize that listening to techno was not enough - only DJing could completely satisfy her need for the funky techno sound she had grown to love. In November of 2002 she picked up her first set of decks and by August of 2003 she was playing at System Soundbar and for Uber Industries (London). Since then, she has played at The Docks for Toronto�s Pride Ball, Babylon Martini Bar, Element Bar, Labyrinth Lounge and has appeared on various local radio shows, including 1groove radio and CIUT�s �die maschine� show. Sarah was also first runner up at the Guvernment semi-finals of Heineken�s �Found@Thirst� DJ competition.
Sarah�s style can best be described as fun, funky dancefloor techno, combining tribal and vocals into her sets. �My sets are high energy and fast paced. I don�t break to have a cigarette between mixes! I don�t play lounge music at my gigs because I don�t want people lounging. I want them dancing!� she says. And they won�t be the only ones dancing - most of the time you�ll see Sarah leading her dance pack from behind the decks. Wherever she is, whatever she�s doing, she�s probably doing it with a smile on her face and a drink in her hand. This girl�s ready to party!

All these DJs are wicked! I've seen or heard them, and they're definitely going to show us an amazing time. Just make sure to wear comfy shoes They going to be playing some hard beats!

What time did they arrive? The cops will end an event if there are noise complaints, or if disgruntled people feel like making a fuss, but it doesn't happen often- and usually because the party extends beyond midnight.
We're ending the party at 12:30am for that very reason. We're also taking into consideration that it is a Saturday and it's a holiday week-end.

that's unsual. I guess someone made a complaint.
I agree that there's no reason to complain about the music, especially given that it's set back from any residence, and you can only begin to hear the music once you're in close proximity of the clearing.
