There are too many hippies in this world.

Does anybody else hate those tree-hugging hippies that constantly protest and whinge about big business, human rights, women's rights, animal rights, plant rights, whateverelse rights, the environment, conservation, trees, whilst usually being no hoper weed smokers on the dole?

I mean, get a job, do something productive, and then whinge. Don't be a struggler in modern day society and then use the cop-out that you are helping the planet just to make up for your hopelessness.

I mean if you don't want to cut down trees, what are they going to print your social security dole cheque on?

Their protesting things is no different than all your threads and posts bitching about things. They are protesters and you are a complainer.

Wow. Well put. Amen.

I didn't say they didn't have a place, but there are too many of these idiots.

It seems fashionable to hate profit, and business, and economics, but at the end of the day most of these people that don't even work and drive kombis are reliant on people making money for them to eat.

Instead of wrapping themselves around trees why not enter mature talks with the Government o ensure that imported forestry products that aren't sourced from sustainable resources are subject to higher taxes?

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jul-26-2004 00:25:

because these people u see the so called "tree huggers" take the activist approach..they have appointed leaders that do what ur talking about and attend mature talks with appointed officials..the tree hugger activist are their chips, its like a poker game...read a book

You're a friend of John Ashcroft, aren't you?

theres a bunch of them that go to my uni

Posted by Arbiter on Jul-26-2004 00:35:

The thing I don't like about hippies is that it's impossible to have an intelligent conversation with them (or even when one of them is within earshot). They typically don't educate themselves very well on the issues they so passionately rant about, preferring glittering generalities and slogans. Even when they do know a lot of facts surrounding the issue, they rarely put them together into coherent arguments. Instead, they use them as fuel for mud-slinging contests.

Some hippies are good for society, but I might agree that we have too many of them that are all talk and no action.

Was that an intended insult? It was rather lame if so.

There are none of them that go to my uni. The kids at my uni are all a bunch of tightass right wing conservatives. Friends of John Ashcroft's, as Tranc3 would say.
