Smiley DJ Afterburn - Frattboy (Sunquest Remix) [Full 192 Kbps]

hey folks, back with a new track
this is my first completed remix, first i was satisfied but then i listened again and i dunno anymore hehe :S
i know volumes are off, too much reverb here and there, but whats should i fix?
anyways
this is a remix of a classic track from Tiestos magik 6, track 1
love that song, very emotional
so here is my version:

Track Info:
Genre: Trance
Length: 6:58
Quality: 192 kbps
Direct Download Link:

Great job!
I love the melody of that tune.

plus
like the bass
good kick
good intro
nice intro synth

minus
hmm... reverb?
more percussions
clap is too easy

conclusion
very nice intro u got there... maybe a percussive intro would be better? (I prefer that atleast) the mastering and arrangement sounds great.. nicely produced.. I think some more percussions would do wonders.. it gets a little repetetive, and the percussions are too much in the background.. definitely a nice idea of the track this.. but I think it gets too repetetive and the percussions are boring me.. with more percussions and a slighter breakdown would do wonders

8/10

Oh the kind world of mislabeled mp3s...

The mislabel thingy around the 2 Afterburn tracks started from Xtravaganza's (thank you Alex Gold!!) promo vinyl which had Northpole and Frattboy labeled vice versa. That mislabeling error went also to Magik 6 which had as said, Northpole labeled as Frattboy.

So for all these mislabeled mp3s out there we can thank Alex Gold and his label Xtravaganza! Northpole is the solid uplifter while Frattboy is the deeper trancer with dialtones in the beginning and end.

Northpole (10:46)
Frattboy (9:53)

Will check the remix soon.

Same problem on the 'Gatecrasher: Global Sound System' CD if I remember correctly. Dunno where all this "Fratty Boy" nonsense came in though. Moral of the story is don't always believe those pesky mp3 people...

Yup, still maslabeled. It's definitely a remix of Northpole.

It's a solid remix, although it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. The synth sounds are similar, but the whole atmosphere of the original is gone (the element that made it such a spectacular track in my opinion). I'm obviously a bit biased because the original is one of my favourite tunes, but regardless I think it's a very difficult track to remix...

i tried hehe
it is hard to remix, because u cant really add anything new to it, then ud just ruin it, but whatever...
on to the next track

very polished production. Nothing really wrong with it but missing something. I need to hear the original to make a fair assessment I guess.

Cool

it's north pole mate

don't argue i have the vinyl

Posted by alzalam on Jul-27-2004 21:43:

backin luke up on this one...

its definitely "north pole" as I have the vinyl as well, on XTRA2

this remix is really nice though, but as you said there is not much to change from the original because it is absolutely brilliant.

nice one (y)

I like the added elements over the original. This remix brings the track slightly more up to date! I like it
