LOL!

16 mins....do you think you can keep people's attention for 16 mins?

are you trying to be pete namlook?

Posted by Oceanseeker on Jul-26-2004 20:19:

Just download it, and you will see

I'm trying to be nicer of late, so I won't totally tear it to pieces

I think some elements don't fit, some elements seem to not be the right call. The song is obviously too long by a good 8 mins, yes props to you for attempting a 16 min odyssey BUT very few can keep your attention for 16 mins with a song and very few can make it work (exceptions are pete namlook and mike oldfield). 11 minute songs are just a waste of space imo, anything over 10 mins tends to be because the intro and calm down is a waste of space. Exceptions apply like Sasha's Xpander, that gets you in at the start and drags you along for all that time. You will get better, as all producers do but 16 mins is a waste of time imo, make an impact for 8 mins imo.

That's fine, most of my songs are about 8 minutes or less, I made one for fun, and that's about it.

Its ok if you are able to tear it apart. I know the song is far from being pro, but that's fine. Anyways,

how about you tear your own attitude apart first, I honestly don't see how this can get you really far as a reviewer, artist, person, anything...

Do yourself a favor, worry about yourself and I'll worry about myself.

I really think you could have been more constructive there. A single line with a vague comment about "some elements" followed by a paragraph about why the track shouldn't have been made in the first place isn't really a review, constructive or otherwise.

Downloading now....will comment tomorrow.

been a day where I could not put the things into words. I had what I wanted to say then had to rush out and help a neighbour. Sorry I'm not writing a huge complicated ivibes style review about it...maybe tomorrow.

This is really, really good. It got to near the 8 minute mark and I was thinking "OK, think I've had enough now" but the tune just carry's itself so well and it was no effort at all listening to the 2nd half, you've obviously put a shitload of work in putting this together coz it's not just copied and pasted about, it's varied throughout and it really works well.

I think the kick is maybe a bit too hard (usual disclaimer about my stereo being shit though), and the hat on the off-beat is a bit too harsh on the ears... have you got some distortion on it or something?

Overall though I'd be proud of this, I usually go for stuff that's a lot more progressive when it comes to Trance, but I think the fact that the tune is so long allows it to create a good atmosphere and it's very listenable.

Good stuff

edit: I forgot to mention I'm not too keen on the double-clap at the end of each bar when it first comes in, but it works when the rest of the tune comes in...

Thanks a lot Oceanseeker for fixing this link !
I really enjoy listening to your tune !!!!

What a great tune you've made !!!

I love the melody and the overall atmosphere of the track.

I agree with Spad about all the variations, there's a lot of different themes which bring a lot of feelings around that song.

Really good job Oceanseeker ! Respect !
