Problem with Technics 1210mk5
Long story short...my Technic 1210 mk5 wont turn on. Plugged in at mains, tried different sockets around house, no responce. Tried replacing fuse but no joy. Any other suggestions?? Please help!!! If cant do anything i will have to send back and get replaced, but it anyone could help me out before having to do this would be extremely grateful!! Thnxs for any suggestions
heres an idea:
Go buy a turntable one at your local guitar center or electronics store, then swap the Turntables and return the faulty unit back to the store.
You won't be able to do that at guitar center b/c they keep serial numbers on record and they check it for every return/exchange.
If you notice, the serial number is stuck on the side of bottom rubber base of the Turntable. that rubber base can be taken off and swapped onto the newly bought turntable then returned.
when theres a will theres a way.....
lol sneaky
we havnt done this have we
Other than being a pretty lame thing to do Guitar Center charges a 15% restocking fee on all DJ gear. So on a $500 deck you are looking at $75 to swap it plus the bad karma.
I buy all of my stuff from Guitar Center in Seattle and they have always stood by me. Trust me that I have had more than my fair share of faulty gear (JBL) and they go way out of the way to help me out. From what I have seen its a great company.

Maybe the tt's plug is faulty or the cable.
Hey guys. I did the samething with my MDR-V700DJ headphone. Originally, I brought the piece from my local Curcuit City. After a year, the headphone jack to the mixer complete broke in half. So I went to Guitar Center and brought a new one, and then I switch my busted on in the box and return the following week. No question asked.
I think I know your turntable problem. The 1210 usually has a switch inside the platter. I assume you live in England the voltage is different from the US. US is 110 UK is 220. If I were you, I will check the switcher inside the table. Since there is little hole for you to see the inside of the table. I will definiatly check out that and switch it.
Yeh i checked that voltage switch, but it cant be that as the table was in perfect working order for nearly a month before this incident. I had packed my decks up and moved them to my friends, used them there (worked fine) and when i took them home, one of them does not turn on
Possibly a loose wire somewere, jus wondering if I had any options other than to send them back and get a replacement
