where do the TOTAs like to eat?

i hate to start a non-music related thread but I'm really curious...

post your fave restaurants, eateries, food courts, etc in toronto...recommend dishes to order...preferably non-franchised places and you spend under 10 bux per person if yer going with yer friends.

here's mine

johnny's hamburgers
vic park and sheppard

boston steak house - baked chicken with cheese
brimley and sheppard

pho 88 - special spicy soup (viet noodle soup with coconut milk)
warden south of steeles

sashimi house
404 and sheppard

mississauga

shanghai express (I think that's what it's called) - hot braised chicken
burnhamthorpe and tomken

You don't ever eat downtown?

I love Salad King on the Ryerson campus.
I had an amazing dinner Friday at Lobby in Yorkville - just awesome.

- Alice Fazooli's (Italian crabshack)
- Ginger (Viet/Thai)
- Sangam (East Indian at Bay & College)

There is this one place out there that sells really good roast beef sandwiches with gravy. I think it's owned by Greeks. Dude... I forget the name?????

Ooo, highroller. Was thinking of going there for Summerlicious, but didn't get organized enough to do it.

I like the Ginger 2 at Yonge and Gerrard. I really liked the food at this Hungarian restaurant called "Country Style" in the Annex area. For late-night Chinatown there's always Swatow (sp?). New York Subway in the goth district is always good. I had the best wrap at this place a bit south of System (dunno the name) but it might just be because I was superhungry. Peter St. Deli across from System is decent too.

I think I read somewhere that Ultra is owned by the same people who own the Guvernment? Never been there. Heard it's super snobby though.

I don't go to downtown enuff to know where the good places are. Which is why I started this thread

I do highly recommend the dishes I posted. They're very addicting!

I just remembered also, for chicken wings, there's this place called 4friends and it's on Warden and Finch (Bridlewtowne Circle to be exact). The HOTTEST SUICIDE WINGS i've ever had. They have this challenge to eat 15 of em in just 30 mins and you win a t-shirt and sign yer name in the book of fame. Of course, yer ass will be sore for the next few days from doing #2 after this.

Anyone else recommend any chicken wings pubs? And don't say St. Louis cuzz that place sux!

Mel's Montral Delicatessen on Bloor & Howland, in the Annex... By far, the BEST all day breakfast place in the city because of their Montral Smoked Meat!!!

It's all about the Big Baby Breakfast:

Pancake
3 Eggs
2 Choices of Meat (Bacon, Sausage or MTL Smoked Meat)
Homemade Hash Browns
Bagel or Toast
Fruit Salad
Freshly Squeezed OJ

Damn... I want some NOW!

All are amazing, but a Johnny's is special. Scarborough tradition - stopping by Johnny's for a burger and fries at 3am when you're hammered. Stopped by there last Friday on my way home at midnight and everything was closed up - no lights, no body, hope the Scarborough tradition hasn't closed.

Live just down the road from Johnny's DVP and 401.
