Thread title sounds like a petition to stop cutting down trees in the Amazon rain forest. lol.

Ok, not trying to get snotty or snappy here. Just plain simple: I miss this place, the way it used to be- i especially miss quality threads and quality members that posted in this forum not so long ago. and i cant understand what has been going on and why...
For example, why have there been about 58 polls posted in the past few days? Is that Really necessary everyone??
And while i'm at it, I would just like to point out an example of which i must express my utter disgust about : the "where was the first time you had sex" or whatever it was thread. how gross can you get, honestly? i have nothing against anyone who posted there but i couldn't bring myself to even click on it, not that anyone was forcing me to read it- but just to see the topic thread title alone made me want to throw the fuck up. I had to swallow last night's dinner back down. Like, WHY would you wanna divulge into your 1st sexual experience in a thread where anyone can see? Not trying to get detailed here but isn't that supposed to be one of your most intimate experiences?? where is your self respect?? once again, i'm not a hater, y'all know i dont hate on anyone (i just tease lee here and there for forever being a n00b. 
) but i'm just asking you to think about what i'm saying.
NYTA is NOT a dumping place for shit threads and bullshit posts. however, it IS a place to have fun, and FUN is to be had at any chance you can possibly conceive having a bit of fun with (of course, not on someone else's expence bc that's just mean and when it comes down it, we're a bunch of dance music hippies.) One of the reasons I dont post here anymore very often is because there hasn't been anything interesting/intelligent to post about- and when i have posted about something to possibly *think* about, it gets criticized on bullshit webdesign- the point doesn't even get across.
As you all know, there used to be the PPR room, which i sorely miss, bc it prevented all these toxic materials in the form of Spam Threads from spreading out all over each page of this forum like they are now. I wish we could start another, as maybe it would help cure the problem that has been plaguing this forums as of late.
Now, I can bank that many people will reply and say "well if you dont like, then leave!!" or "well then dont post anymore" etc.. but the reason why i'm posting this long ass thing is because i DO like it....when it's not being treated like a whore in harlem. i DO care about this place- shit, I've met some of my best friends (alex aka trancer) from NYTA and some very special people (even a bf!)
please feel free to express (or, for other people, sexpress) your opinions, whether you're a flamer or have something to add to this- i'm not an insecure person so i honestly dont care if you're up for games and name-calling...i wont care and you wont be worthy of a reply if you can't take a few moments to maturely consider what i'm saying here. I care most about the valid, intelligent replies this thread receives and how other people truly feel- do the normal posters truly like this place and the "Just Wondering" and "Yes or No" polls/threads??? (not calling out on people, just posting examples.)
Ultimately, I am asking this:
Can we please treat this place with some respect?
I miss the NYTA Community.
i feel the NYTA forum has become SO much more of a "community." before, with the PPR, it was only a "select" few who were all tight...but now, i have met so many people who i wouldn't have otherwise on this forum. NYC forum is the most comfortable for me, because i feel like even people i have met once (or even not at all), i can consider close friends. for example, i have never met sal or lyss but through posting even in silly threads, it brings us together.
as for the sex thread, it would be different if it were in the COR. and although it is for everyone's eyes to see, i feel like it was just a big discussion with friends, not strangers.
i certainly don't want to say "don't post here" or "don't read it if you don't like it" because of course dani you are a part of the NYTA community too! and we miss you! i just don't know what to tell you babe...other than how can something change for the better unless you try to make it? what threads would you like to see in here? we can't ALWAYS post about trance, events, djs...etc...thats why it's a local forum for us all to share in our experiences and such.
as for the polls, drizzt bumped like every thread from 1998 not sure why...
sorry about teh sex threah but i dunno i guess i was just bored and there were like 5 others before mine. I'm sorry, just trying to make conversations thats all sorry to ruin the whole community thing *cries in corner*

Well, being that a poll I posted was used as an example, I should post on this. I'm still relatively a newbie here. I've met some awesome people whom I truely love to talk & hang out with. Dani, although I've only met you once, I can see from most of your posts that you are a great person and care very much for the people that you are familiar with on this board. I look forward to hanging out with you again sometime soon
I totally agree with Erin on this. This Forum has become such a comfortable place to post, that it's like many of us are like family. It's to the point that we post and talk about things as if we were all hanging out in person as a group. Yes, I will admit that some of the Threads started probably should be posted elsewhere, including the "Just Wondering" thread
Dani, you are a "senior" member to this forum, and I would not want to post anything that would deter you from posting here, and I'm sorry if I have. It's just like I said in the afformentioned paragraph, I've become so comfortable with the people here that I act the same way I would in person. I feel that is the best way to be because you are being who you are rather than trying to be someone you are not. So I'm sorry that you feel the way you do dear, but I'm gonna be who I am and post just like I would talk to you in person. I don't mean to sound rude, that's not my intention, because I am the total opposite of rude. You asked us to express how we feel, so that's what I'm doing.
I don't think that this forum could get any better than the way it is. The reason that I come to the NY forum everyday is because of the people and the fact that there is a comfortability level that is attained here that is not so existant in any other forum. I wouldn't change anything about this forum, except trying to help make it a little more comfortable for you. So I'm open to suggestions and willing to help ya!
I dont bother to post anymore I enjoy the company of those I have met via this forum and really have no need to post here... If i wanna get in touch with someone i can just call them up or AIM them.... So true. I was a lurker for a long time. I had no problem with the threads, until the PPR cage was let down by mods. All of the problem spammers were released into civilization

As for Erin saying the PPR was for a select few, I don;'t think it was like that at all. All the people who posted in PPR often welcomed everyone who posted there. Oh and that was what we used the PPR for, talk about anything and spam your ass off like a maniac. So we chit chat and bullshit in the PPR instead of flooding the forum with 50 new threads a day.
Like what Erin and Joey have said, for the love and respect of everyone on this wuunderful forum, we will all be open and willing to compromise to make this the best place possible for everyone 
kekek aiite aiite less spamming in the future...although the "chat-like" conversations in those forums HAVE def helped each of us to get to know one another...I really feel like we are a family. and being that we are all a family, certainly we wouldnt want to unintentionally offend or disappoint neone i luv everyone on here!!!!!! yay!
I have to admit, I indirectly provoked the sex thread to some degree...lols...it was such a boring day before that...then again i think everyone had a hand in that...sowwies 
yeah too bad there is no more PPR thread...personally i didnt see nething wrong wid that, except for the fact that it got TOO freakin' long..lols

Yeah I understand how you feel Lunasea, this place has gotten someone good. Its was a rocky 2004 in this forum.There was some pointless threads here these past days.Now about the sex thread it only gets stronger with most people in this boards being perverted.
Now what really disgusted me was some asswipe called Wicked Neo coming in here and shuting the PPR for no damn reason. Its seemed no one cared and only I ded. A big FOCK YOU to you guys who didn't care.
But yeah I gotten a little tired of this place because people forget about ya or just like saying stupid stuff.

yeah dani. thats why i kinda slowed down my posting too. seems a lot of posts get ignored too. i basically post in the baseball threads only. haha.

honestly, i think NYTA has gotten a lot better recently. As long as the bashin is kept to a minimal, i dont really care for the stupid threads. Its there if you wanna join or not. And yea, anyone notice the bashing has gone down 90%? I will admit that TA was pretty damn cool back in the day, but we were all nerds and its not fair for the newcomers here now. I mean, do any of u guys notice how much we tease each other on here? Its because we all know each other that well. I drive all the way up from dc to ny by myself to attend a meetup whenever possible (ie: tfst july 4 bbq) and meeting ppl personally is always fun and always a blast. Freal if it weren't for some of you guys, id prolly never find my way outta nyc.
i think at times it gives me a headache to read some posts, either cuz of content or otherwise, but for the most part it's great reading up on everyone's antics... the negative bashing, well at least we know we're all awake when that stuff happens.
i'm still a relative n00b here, given that a LOT of u guys have known each other from way back, with all these random connections. i'm still trying to find a niche here. it's definitely a pleasure meeting TAs from all over, who all share the love for the music...
Hmm I definitely see where you are coming from Daniela!! This forum has definitely changed from back when I first became a member, which is why there was that period where I kinda stopped posting, but I dunno I guess I'm trying to post more often now to connect with the new TA members that I don't know.
those random threads and polls dont bother me much. i have been a member for awhile, but i dont nearly post as much in NYC forum as i do in the other forums.... but there seems to be a closely knit group of people here. and you really cant ask for more b/c its not every day you make friends out of strangers.
I like NYTA the way it is.....yeah there are some people that I would rather not see post but oh well....it is their right to post untill they get out of hand and break some rules.....Its happend in the recent past and those people are gone now (not gonna mention any names but im sure you all can figure it out) The mods are doing their jobs, we are sticking together....what more can you ask for??? Times change, people change, you can't live in the past. Just my 2 cents. Gnite peeps.

I totaly agree with you Dani. That's pretty much the reason why I stopped coming here for about 2 months. These days I only post now and then in cubik/DC-event related threads for the most part. Too much garbage otherwise. Honestly, I don't really come on TA much anymore as a whole. This is probably due to my lack of interest in trance these days. Almost all of the "good ole" TA's who introduced me to this place and who I befriended when I first joined up are either gone or rarely post anymore. Most of the threads here are from groups of relative newcomers about parties in NYC -- there's nothing wrong with that btw, it's just that I can't really relate to any of them since I haven't met half these people and I can't get up to any of these events. TA as a whole seems to have slipped downhill in recent times. Maybe I'm just saying that b/c after being around for a while, everything starts to fold back on itself and nothing is new anymore. I just don't really care enough these days to sort through all the recycled threads and pointless attention whoring for the few quality threads.
BTW, h202h, your argument you have a lot more validity if you didn't punctuate every sentence with "gay" and stoop to the level of childish insults -- which is the same kind of crap you are railing against. And really man, it's an interenet message board. I mean, sure it's sad to lose that feeling of bonding and friendship and community, but you just can't let it get to you like that. The people who you are really friends with will still be your friends, TA or no TA. So I wouldn't worry.
