hey, i'm gonna be a junior next year... and i gotta say nyu is sooooo much fun. honestly, i can't ask for a better place to spend my college years. mainly cuz of the fact that we get to live in manhattan while goin to school. the education is ok... some good teachers here and there, depending on which program your in. some people i know had trouble meeting people after transferring in (a lot of friendships are made freshman year in dorms and classes), but i also know people who haven't had a problem. i definitely recommend this school tho, its a really great experience... plus, u get to go to all the great parties in new york... hehe. one big negative tho, nyu lov es to steal your money! theives!!!

yea, there are a lot of rich kids.... but there's nothing wrong with that, as long as people are snotty and mean i guess. but nyu is also very well known for its business school Stern and yea, also the acting and film school Tisch. The dorms are amazing, some are very nice. U can live in a single, live in a double or a triple. it all depends on what u choose. u can get ur own bathroom but at most, u'll have to share with 3 people probably. some dorms are further away then others and u may need to take an nyu bus or subway. i dunno.. any other questions just shoot!

just be ready to see anything and everything in the village where NYU is heartedly located...SMACK...i wonder what impression Hare Krishna would leave on his face. Anyways, NYC if your ready to handle the rush hour crowds, the aggressive driving of yellow cars, from doo-wop to mexican live music on the trains, and breakdancers and bucket smashers asking for money. the infamous tic n tac of washington square, but amongst the lively nightlife, you are assured to get 2 hotdogs and a papaya drink for 2.45 all within walking distance. not to mention the trance parties and this good ol'e NYTA community going on here...

owait, was you asking about the school or the area the school is in...hehe focus man foooccuuss (in the summer the girls wear less and less clothing - just walk up n down broadway). haha good luck studying 3.7GPA...you can do it...

all in all this city is something i can never get enough of and i've been here all my life...next stop EUROPE!

from what i know from friends of mine, this has nothing to do with what i think of it because i have no experience to judge upon it, the school is basically a reliving of high school drama (in the dorms anyway) everyone is pretty uptight about everything (rigorous curriculum puts a damper on alot of your non class time) and stressful to meet all the expectations of ivy league schools, i applied, got accepted, and turned them down. i didnt feel like it was worth the ridiculous amount of money for the first two years (in essence it is only liberal arts study) maybe in two years ill reapply, but twete if you wish to come take a look for yourself dont base your final decisions on the basis of other's opinions

Hey, I'm gonna be a sophomore in the College of Arts & Science in September... I gotta say that NYU is a wonderful school: 3/4 of professors I've had so far were excellent and truly committed, I can't beat the location, and my fellow students are truly intelligent and interesting. Bad points are that the price is a little steep for an undergraduate school, but then again an NYU diploma is an open door into many high-paying careers in NYC and other places, as NYU graduates are very highly regarded... yes there are rich kids, snobby people, etc. but that's something every school lives with. NYU is what you make of it; you can have the best time, get involved, and have many doors open for you if you so choose. You can also sit in a corner alone and waste your money and your education. It's your choice at NYU cause you are basically left alone to make your own decisions. Also the fact that there are what seems like 10 million kids to meet can be bad, because you tend to feel lost or insignificant, but also means there's always a new interesting person lurking around the corner ... come visit during the fall if you can, sit in on classes, etc... see if you like it. Oh and the dorm life is fuckin awesome, but expensive. trancinchink is right, NYU looooves to eat your money! Every year they find a new way to do it.

Yo, miss bliss thx so much, great response, again, i dont know if ill get in or antyhing, even though on princeton review it only gets a 90 for how hard the admission is. Cost is a huge issue for me, i pay my own way, i got those european parents who think education is free, which it is back home, soo i pretty much pay my own way. Right now here at Texas A&M i pretty much get a free ride, gotton some grants and scholarships. Soo i guess the social life rox, which is coo, cause id be living in the dorms, freaking renting in NY gotta cost a fortune,

So how are class sizes ?? small or more like lectures, do prof test you by giving scantron sheets more often or do they like you to write your answers. Also on princetonreview it said ranked number 1 as most tolerant gay school, which is cooo, but im straight just making sure lots of women i hope also i keep hearing drama school, but would u say if u graduate from NYU with good grades that u should be able to get into a nice buis school u know one of the big ones,

Yeah i would luve to visit, but i think ill apply to all 3 schools, gonna apply to University of Texas, Univ. of RIchmond and then NYU then the ones i get into ill visit during x-mas or something see how it feels, cause the school i goto i really wanna like it cause i hate it here,

Another thing is there alot of foreigners ?? cause iam one, from denmark/sweden, i just luve meeting people from different cultures and here in texas its just mexican and rednecks rofl no offense,

thx again for all the info

Big classes like Introduction to Economics or Politics or whatever are huge, like 200 people in a huge lecture hall. However, even then, the professors are always accessible, happy to answer questions, and help in any way you can, and there are teacher's assistants and extra classes in smaller sizes with those teacher's assistants that really help. Half of my classes have been 100-200 kids, and half have been 8-15 to a class (German, French, writing). There are nothing but scantron tests in classes like science, politics, economics, etc. and of course, written and oral tests in foreign languages, and for an English or writing class, you'll have an at-home essay instead of a question-and-answer exam.

#1 gay tolerant is right, as the major NYC gay community is about 2 blocks from campus in the West Village. I don't see why anyone who's not tolerant would come here... considering you come in contact with LBGTQ kids every single day. The split in genders is about 60% female, 40% male, and the male population has a larger percentage of gays than most schools. (haha, this means more girls for you and less male competition: SCORE! ) Man, everyone gets along though... what I always say is that usually at other schools, if you're gay-tolerant you'll get your ass kicked... at NYU, it's the other way around... the people who spread hate are the ones who get their ass kicked.

LOTS of foreigners, most teacher's assistants are foreigners (I've had Lithuanian, Swedish, German), I had professors from Greece and India... you meet a kid in every class that's studying on exchange from Spain, Bulgaria, Japan, etc... one of the top 5 things about NYU, I think.

Just ask if you wanna know anything else

NYU is expensive but worth every penny in terms of getting an education both in and out of the classroom...firstly NYC is def a great city to gain experience in...wid the different cultures and companies that are here...plenty of internships plenty of interactions...its great...also the alumni connectiosn i heard are amazing...and u will gain an experience unlike ne other..liek what alisa said...it is very close to the WEst Village, the gay community, and that teaches ppl to be open about their environemtn which i think is a great thing

hmm isnt a member of filo and peri coming to NYU next semester...that should be interesting for the EDM scene here... good for u tOO hai lee and andruCakes ekke. i hope u get to work wid them that would be hot...hey get them to become TAs toO ahahha

oh shyt nyu sounds like fun.. I heard a lot of kids flunk out because the partying/drugs is too hardcore over thurr. That female to male ratio is tight.
