Fruity Loops Midi Controller

Can anyone help me figure out how to get a midi controller to record the keys i play in the step sequencer in fruity loops?
i can play the sounds but i cannot get them to record what i play.

I have a similar problem:

I hooked my midi keyboard to my pc, so far its sending on channel 1, it works in other programms, like cakewalk notation and sweet sixteen, but in fruity I cant get anything out of it, I cant even play vsti`s with it, its simply not working there, any help ?

it works with cakewalk sonar and fruity for me..but i cannot record using fruity
