So, i'm ready to make purchases..please comment.
I basically got 500 bucks Cdn. to play with. I got basically nothing besides FL Studio 4 and a good computer. So here is what i am planning on getting right now.
PCI Audiophile 2496
Oxygen 8 (or possibly the Radium???)
Anyother recommendations on synths...keyborads?? I could scrounge p a few more bucks for extras
If I'm not mistaken, the big draw for the oxygen series is the built in sound card. So, if you're going for the audiophile, your best bet is the Radium. I have a Radium 49 that I absolutely love, and it was under $150, leaving me a little left over for "inspirational purposes"
i would get a micro-korg
plenty of presets for trance house and other genres as well as recording ur voice and modifying it which would be pretty insane with vocal tracks
gl on ur choice

I wouldn't be able to stand a 2 octave keyboard(Oxygen 8)! That's just not enough keys dammit!
The Radium's alright, but I wouldn't pay that much for just a midi keyboard conroller.
So personally, I would just get an old keyboard off e-bay and use it primarily as a midi controller, and then invest in some good vstis.
Thread about midi controlers...great !!.
I'm going to buy midi controler
Evolution MK 449 USB. Anyone could help me with choice ?
Well since u live in toronto...
goto mississauga hurontario (hwy 10) and lakeshore since u'll be driving south take a left keep driving east until u reach a store called
L.A. music which would be on ur left side
Go in and ask to speak to the owner...tell him ur real interested in buying Micro-Korg but only have about 450 cash...it sells for 500 but if ur confident and negotiate with him it will work
again this piece is awesome
u can basically make a melody of ur voice!

If im not mistaken, the Oxygens dont have a built in sound card. Its the Ozones that do. Same thing, just with a sound card. I dont have it backwards, do i?

My bad, you're absolutely right. Get a radium anyway. Much less switching between octaves.Re: So, i'm ready to make purchases..please comment.

get a radium 61 and a m audio delta sound card look on ebay and just pay attetion and shit and you can find them for cheap. itll use your full 500 but itll be well worth it especially if you plan on doing alot of production.
What is better: Evolution or Radium Keyboards ?
evolution supports pedals and as far as i know of the radium does not support pedals. so really just depends how familar you are with piano/keyboard and such
the radium does support pedals. Besides, anything you can do with a pedal, ie. sustain and muting, can be edited into midi data.
radium49 it is, tx again boys

The Evo class is much more pricey, prob their higher end stuff. Read reviews on zzounds.com....awesome site. Apparently the Radium uses cheap light plastic, but thats ok with me. |

| Originally posted by Psy-T the whole point of the oxygen is the knobs imo, and getting an old keyboard defeats that purpose. i know you can get a knob board, but that will just make things more expensive |
Mind you, I've never really liked using the knobs/sliders on those keyboards for automation. If I want to automate frequecny cutoffs, or do sweeps, whatever, I just do it in the software.

Is it Roland JP-8000 ?
Nup, it's a JV80, and came out 6 years before the JP8000. But I'm just trying to demonstrate that you shouldn't limit yourself to names like the evolution series when looking for a midi controller keyboard.
You can pick up some really nice old synths which double as midi controllers for really really cheap if you just look around(2nd hand shops/ebay etc)
Ohhh, I see. I have to looking for this baby
