Global Gathering 2004....my quick review...
Ok, I'm not one to write a lot, so I'll keep it short....
This year's Global Gathering was amazing.... Cheers to Oakey, who absolutely redeemed himself with a wonderful Trance/Progressive set... It was great to see him enjoying himself so much and mixing so well...
Also, cheers to Sasha and Digweed for their AMAZING set... I give them the best overall award of the evening...
Cheers to PVD for finally finding some new music to spin...always a pleasure to hear Paul blow the roof off the place....some amazing builds and drops....
Cheers to Ferry for rocking the place with one hit after another and just making people scream.....
Cheers to James Zabiela for helping everyone to just lay back and feel great.... he's everything I expected him to be...They planned him his time just right for sit down time....
The event was great....even without a program we were able to travel from arena to arena and just "catch" people at random... we saw everyone we wanted to, except Adam Freeland.... although I'm sure he blew the roof off the place.....
The decorations were a bit cheesy.... the lights were a bit weak, except in Godskitchen arena... there were some really great video visuals with Sahsa and Digweed and Zabiela.... But, decorations don't matter much to me.... I just care about the sound and lights.... The sound was again best in Godskitchen arena..... But, it served it's purpose in Bedrock and Beach. Lights could have been better in Beach arena for Oakey, but there was a full, red moon in the background which made the whole set very mysterious and magical... I'll NEVER forget dancing to Oakenfold under the full, red moon....
Anyway, the event was great, the music was great, the people were great.... this was my first time at a UK event and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to party really really really hard.....

Pity the sound was crap while tiesto was spinning!
sure it was the sound and not just tiesto?
Tiesto spun the same shitty tunes that he always does. Someone should give him a new crate o'records for him to play. It was daft to say the least!
Armin dissapointed me but it was kinda cool hearing Yet another day over Suburban Train. I was rockin when that one came on.
I was sooo pissed I couldnt make it to the event, I just got back from a 7 day party in greece and my legs just couldnt handle it.
So i listened to it on galaxy fm and can safely say some of the live sets were imense. The DJ on Galaxy was nearly crying when he had to go to comercial breaks every 20mins during Armins set. As excon said it was an amazing mix on Yet another day over Suburban Train.
Oakeys set was really really good, he was completly hyped about it on the radio interview before he went on, and he lived up to it. I can only imagine what Southern Sun experience sounded like in the beach arena
Anyway, to anyone who was there, remember me sitting in my bedroom looking out over the sun blazed fields listeing to it on the radio wishing I was there

Don't DJs always play the well-known tracks (which means they have to play quite a bit of old stuff) at big massives such as this one?
Why is everyone "disappointed" with that when it should be expected.

What do you suppose it was?
I had a Great time! Some bits weren't as good as others but thats how these things go! Seems to be people moaning about different DJ's all over the place! At the end of the day just think about the good tunes that were dropped and forget about the rest!
