connecting a pioneer efx 500 to a xone 92

Do these work together.

I've just got a new xone 92 and a friend gave me a loan of his efx 500, but I don't know how to connect it.

Do they even go together?

At the moment i've got it in thru the mic channel I think and altho it works - it sounds shite.

I'm not very technically minded so any help would be appreciated.

hmm and you got a xone 92.... Did you ever think to read the manual of the xone? Anyway Ill point you in the right direction.... Connect the Aux receives of the xone to the sends of the pioneer efx and connect the Sends of the xone to the receives of the pioneer efx... There should be a wet dry knob on the mixer that will allow you ajust how much effect is in the mix. Enjoy..

The FX unit is wired up fine ya rocket. Its never going to sound like the DJM so just deal with it..

wrong. why the hell would you attatch an fx unit to a mic input..?? and the efx500 SOUNDS AS GOOD AS THE INPUT. so wired correctly to an allen + heatjh, it will sound fantastic, and way better than a djm600.

chesco, either:
wire it from the output on your mixer into the input on the efx500, then output on efx500 >stereo/amp.

or, if the xone92 has effect send & return jacks, take the send from the mixer to the input of the efx500, and the output of the efx500 to the return pon the mixer. with send/return it doesnt sound as good, but you can use it on individual channels as opposed to just the master signal.

i just wire it from the main output straight to the efx, then to my amp. it sounds fantastic.

make sure you don't use a clean feed output though (they are labelled as such on a+h mixers)

hope this helps

I'm sure this will make sense when I'm looking at the mixer, lol.

I'll give it a go when I get home, Thanks

Look mate, with all due respect, its my fuckin mixer and the mic channel also doubles as the Rtn. So dont try and tell me stuff I already know.

And as for plugging it straight into the master output, well thats fine if you want to loose the sound quality from the mixer..

ooo it's ma baw and am no playin..

Grow up gio. He's just trying to suggest another way of hooking up our efx unit. Because it sounds absolute wank at the moment and your the only person who can't hear that. When you play an effect it starts playing both channels even tho one channel volume control is set to 0. There most definately has to be another way of setting it up.

How would you like to be mixerless? In fact, how would you like to never get near the decks again?

Posted by chesco on Aug-03-2004 18:14:

just pointing out facts that the efx sound shite.

with all due respect, i have the effects unit and i know how to plug the mofo in. i also know how good it is supposed to sound, and how it wont make a noticable difference wiring it from the master unless your are using it in a club environment, which he is not.

and i also know (and posted) that it WON'T sound as good when hooking it up to send/return jacks. FACT.

i'm sorry, i dont know every mixer in and out so i didn't know that the mic inputs are also returns. most mixers have seperate jacks for this.

you seem like a moody person, keep your rolling eyes away from me
