Big virus problem
MY virus have gone nuts... it started after i installed sounddiver and fooled around a little. trying to backup my banks to the computer. Well that didnt succed. I got this sysex errors all the time... saying that it lost connection with the virus.. so i got tired of it and shut it down.
Then i played some and noticed that my virus distorts when i play many notes at a time and press them hard. and its nothing with the levels of the output.. its disting "inside" the virus. i havent seen anyone with the same problem here before, maybe its just some settings ive gotten wrong when i fooled around with sounddiver.. i dont know. But i do know that my virus aint what it used to be
I have a virus indigo II redback and heres a link to a sound i recorded.. when you here the dist.. thats when i press the keys harder.

anyone got any suggestions?
a) reset the gobal settings - check the manuals index for reset
b) reload the OS
c) join the access forums
those are my ideas, good luck
try posting the same question to www.ampfea.org - an unofficial virus pundits' hangout
. I'm sure that it's something simple. One other thing to keep in mind - sounddiver sucks big sweaty monkey balls. That's why I (and most other in the know) don't use it.
just a thought.
best of luck with getting your virus "under control" nudge nudge wink wink

Are you using a midi interface? or are you hooking up direct from sound card in and out from virus back to sound card? Sounds like from your other symptoms, getting errors with sysex dumps, that you are having midi issues. I had similar distort noises when I had driver issues with my interface, also causing sysex dump errors with soundiver.
Try this.. try controlling the virus directly. Bypass any midi through sound card or interface. Simply plug the keyboard/controller directly to the virus, then hit the keys hard to see if you can duplicate the same problem directly through the virus.
ive never had this problem with my VC, its a weird one .

When you reset your virus it gives you the option to keep your single and multi sounds.
After i reinstalled the OS everything works fine again, WOHOOO!!! and all my sounds are left.
Sounddiver fucked up some multis though, but i dont care really.
yea!
One thing is for sure, i never gonna touch sd again.
