Dunno Any1 have problems with Audiophile and high processers?

I was reading some threads about Audiophile 2496 having probs with processers over 2.6 ghz...i asked the M-Audio team but ofcourse they never respond back. But whats up with that?? I planned on getting one? Are u telling me my 3.0 ghz comp is too much??

And if so, is it just the audiophile, or is the delta 44 ok? A great deal is available for it via Zzounds

my audiophile couldn't be running better on my P4 2.8ghz 800Mhz FSB processor.. sounds like you read about either a rare problem or a load of shit

"Well i found out M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 CANNOT be used w/ a processor over 2.6ghz... this is something i have a feeling not many knew about... so i figure i'd post it" Zombie0729

I think it is horseshit as well, more of a case of a messed up computer or settings.

yeah you can quote me on it. I got that after calling m-audio a bazillion times because their card made my comp crash. I'm not sure if its the card itself or if its the drivers. Either way i ended up reformating twice... if you dont have to deal with it... i wouldn't. Echo MIA MIDI is just as nice for the price.

if i'm not mistaken their latest driver was from 2003 when computers were not this fast and i believe that one was only an upgrade to the one that came on CD w/ the card. Guys i'm not stating i know this was that case for sure but this is what i was told.

i actually owned the card in may... so maybe this driver fixed the problems i was having. I do see that it was mostly fixing bugs in Sonar 3.1.1 which is what i'm using.

No probs for me with the latest XP drivers. Running 2.8Ghz and Delta 36 drivers.

I dont see how the speed of your cpu can affect the operation of an expansion card anyway...

Just recieved this email from the m-audio team. We were right from the beginning, and DJAnthony just has computer problems. Confirms the XP and high processor myth.

"Not sure where you heard this but, absolutely not true at all! Both the
Audiophile USB and our Delta series of cards prefer the fastest CPU possible
as well as Windows XP.

One thing you have to be aware of, if you are running Windows XP, you want
to make sure you have installed Service Pack 1 or 1A as this resolves many
issues with the way XP detects and handles USB and PCI devices. You can
download the Service Pack directly from Microsoft.com. This is in general
for ANY USB or PCI pro audio device.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance."

From my experience, the Support team in Canada is much faster at getting back to you and solving your driver problems than the American M-audio support.
