mgTriggerGate released, like TRANCEGATE ( freeware )

for anyone interested, i posted this on kvr-vst.com:

mgTriggerGate is available on my website.
this is my second plugin, and i hope u'll like it. its a sequenced gate like trancegate.
this one is designed as a simple insert fx. best used in a host that 'can sync' like
cubase sx, ableton live and so on.

its here ->
http://www.mgaudio.de
please feel free to download it, its FREEWARE !

have fun...

(i know there are some syncing problems in fl studio and orion, i'll try to fix them)

it looks promising..i'll check it out!

(gui is very vanguardish)

Posted by Sirocco on Aug-05-2004 09:51:

wooooo i love it i just dont like the GUI of the parts where u edit the steps. something that looks more similiar to the one in vanguard would be easier for people to comprehend imo..

BUT good work, i like it a lot and admire ur skill!

That was exactly what I was looking for! I'll check it out sooner or later, thanks!

Hi Paragod,

Great plugin! Thanks very much!

I also have a request for a plugin: Would it be possible to make a rhythmic arpeggiator (auto accompagniment) plugin that allows you to program the patterns with different note lengths etc.. that could then be used as arpeggio pattern. To program the patterns you could create something like the piano roll editor in Cubase where you could draw in notes of different lengths and pitches and that pattern would then become the arpeggio pattern that you can then pitch up and down on your keyboard depending on which notes you play.

It would also be nice if the arpeggiator would have "chord mode", meaning that when you play a chord, all notes of the chord are being played in a rhythmic way at the same time instead of one note after each other like with most arpeggiators. I believe synths like the Virus have this.

With the above arpeggiator plugin it would be possible to program your own sequenced patterns that can then be pitched up and down, depending on which notes you play on your keyboard. Perhaps some people would compare this a bit with the auto accompagniment that you can find on keyboards. Oh, and don't forget "latch/hold mode" (meaning that the arpeggiator keeps playing when you release the notes

Would it be possible to make such a plugin as I don't think such a plugin exists yet. That would be really cool!!

Thumbs up

very cool plugin man.. good job..

But it's full of bugs..

1. when you change the pattern it doesn't effect the gate.. it just keeps playing the preset..

2. the bypass button doesn't work

3. the swing button doesn't work

when i experienced these bugs the VST was on an audio file in Cubase SX 2.2. I'm running a P4 2.8c and an M-Audio Audiophile 2496

Also, a suggestion:

a button that expands the gate to 2, 4, and 8 bars instead of just one..

alanzo:
really ?!? hmm... weird !
i'm using cubase sx 2.203 and everything (but the swing) works perfectly.

all:
-swing isn't implemented yet ... comes in one of the next releases.

-i'll think about that bar expansion thing ...

I tried it again and it's working fine.. must of been a one-time bug or something I'll let you know if it pops up again..

yes.. DEFINITLY do that expansion thing.. would make this a VERY powerful plugin..

Posted by alanzo on Aug-05-2004 17:26:

also another suggestion.. a 2x mode which makes it go twice as fast for faster gate patterns

Posted by thecYrus on Aug-05-2004 18:11:

another idea:

- the possbility to use the 2nd half alone instead of only the 1st and the full

Hello!

Hi Paragod,

Did you read my message above about an "advanced arpeggiator" plugin?! What do you think of the idea?! If my explanation is not clear, just let me know and I can perhaps upload some audio examples of what I am looking for in that arpeggiator plugin. Just let me know!

Cheers, Mike.

woot! thanks for the cool plugin m8! works really well!

Posted by itsamemario on Aug-09-2004 14:14:

great work on the plug m8... altho, yeah expand it to 4 bars, and it has to be able to do 1/32 bars instead of just 1/16...

Posted by itsamemario on Aug-09-2004 14:44:

BUG REPORT:

when you have it in fruity, and if youve set yur own tempo it works all up to the moment you click to open the plugin again... that sucks.. fix it!

Posted by Subtle on Aug-10-2004 01:58:
