hi everyone, new here.

I have been a fan of trance ever since I listened to the entire tranceport CD. I know of DJ Tiesto and oakenfold for artists. I have heard the pink and gray CDs of trance nation, I thought those were decent, but nothing compares to oakenfold's tranceport so far that I have heard. I might as well ask of any "must hear" tracks or CDs and suggestion of any artists for trance also. I am getting a pioneer 4600 that plays mp3s, I will probably get a huge mix (many cds in a row) of mp3s in one cd. I am searching and downloading on Kazza, it works fairly well. It is hard to dl whole cds with individual tracks (it is nice to skip between) when I burn. So individually listed tracks of a good CD would be very helpfull.
Thanks a lot.

Just look for these producers:
Tilt, Chicane, Ferry Corsten, System F, Vimana, Gouryella, Matt Darey, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Marcus Schulz, Benz & MD, Junkie XL, Sander Kleinenburg, Sasha, Paul Van Dyk, Bedrock, Lange, Ascension, Agnelli and Nelson, Transa and Way Out West. That's all I feel like listing now, but you will probably enjoy most of these producers if you like old Oakenfold trance.

well, I pretty much like all trance, those artists will give me plenty to dl, but I would like to keep things organized instead of dling songs from various cds of an artist. I'll get started on dling some paul van dyk and shasha, I have heard they are good.

Posted by Jessica.S on Aug-05-2004 20:43:

check out sets / albumns from armin van buuren, jochen miller, mark norman, ernesto and bastian, george acousta, blank and jones, ton tb, ron van den beuken, ronald van gelderen, midor and six4eight. i can go on and on if you like.

ps. thats for trance. most people here will reccommend you shitty progressive - accept no substitute!

Posted by mnbv on Aug-05-2004 20:46:

I know everyone has different tastes, but if anyone could name specific CDs that are consitered by nearly all to be quality trance, that would be great.
edit: I actually like progressive, at least what I have heard.

realllly good cd and perfect as an introduction to trance.

Give it a couple years Jessica, and you might actually like progressive. Not necessarily G&D prog trance, but deeper stuff.

Posted by Jessica.S on Aug-05-2004 21:00:

trust me. i wont. my old b/f used to listen to it all the time. i cant stand it. its lifeless to me!

Posted by NiteMer on Aug-05-2004 21:04:

You know yourself better than I, but I had the exact same philosophy myself. I didn't even like Sasha and Digweed much, unless it was one of their transier sets. Don't be too surprised if it changes. And I'm not trying to start shit or anything, the banner just caught my attention. I just don't know why people classify G&D as proggy. They are way closer to trance than proggy most of the time.

Thanks, I got a lot to download now, I hope you gave me good stuff!

you are a wise woman

It's just how they 'think' you'll go, not realising that everyone is unique, and you may like me prefer to get into techno or psychedelic or just stick in trance than join the sheep listening to prog or breaks or whatever music is more 'intelligent' at the time

Posted by Ory on Aug-05-2004 21:24:

Yeah, wtf? G&D progressive? Did I miss something? Maybe I'm just too much into the deep proggy stuff that Sasha & Digweed spin...

Not necessarily. I respect all the styles and people's choice to listen to whatever they please. I just find it amusing how many people write of progressive. A whole lot of people that I know, including myself, started out hating it, and grew to love it. She may not, she may. I don't care. I just thought I would throw in my two cents since I am bored at work.

And, by the way, I like proggy cause I like it, not to be cool or intelligent. I hate that argument too. All styles have their own merit and I play some house, proggy, trance, breaks, hard trance, hard house, and will probably pick up some D&B at some point.

Most people will tell you that downloading is not to be mentioned here and they are right, but if you feel you must download, buy any tracks you here at an online vinyl store, most sites are starting to offer digital downloads, prices range from around about 2$ or a 1.

Its important to support the artists, so if you here a song you think is great, make sure you have a physical copy of it.

Hey, you dropped the name Tiesto in your thread, just thought I'd give you some titles.

I happen to like it.

Deal with it.

Posted by |cEbLu3 on Aug-06-2004 01:50:

It basically comes down to a matter of taste, Don't neccessarily go for stuff that is 'in' . In my experience, enjoying different djs/producers depends on where your evolution as a trance addict is. I'm slowly beginning to enjoy more progressive trance since listening to 'DJ Tomcraft - The Silence '. However I still haven't been able to appreciate Sasha. Some things like Dj Sammy i will never like. Everyone's collection of trance favourites is eclectic, however some names do keep popping up everywhere. Sneak a peek at the thread about all time favs. Develop your own taste, the beauty of trance is that you can customize it to suit your personality, values and opinions. Let me welcome you to a world of auditory enlightenment.
